We were launching at the Lake Havasu Marina on Friday and apparently there was a confrontation between a boater who tried to launch but failed the B.S. illegal Marina noise test. The staff member that tested me said the boater refused to leave and the Marina called local P.D. One of the Lake Havasu Police Department (at least I think that was the agency) was pulling out of the launch area when I pulled in. I don't know if the boater was detained, arrested, escorted of the premises or what.
Does anybody else have any info on this example of the Marina nazis?

Let's all put our heads in the sand and boycott the Marina so that the other launch facilities will be crowded and full most weekends. This is no answer.

What you should be saying is "Boycott the Marina", then launch at the Marina yourself. Might help the crowds. Personally I don't like doing business with some people so I will stay away from there as much as I can unless other options are expended.

No, what I am saying is we have a right to launch at the Marina without limitations. Period. This is in the contract the Marina has with the State. They have been informed that they are in viloation of the contract by the Department of Land. They still abuse this.
The Marina has a capacity for X number of boats. When they are rejecting legal boats that pushes the boats to launch elsewhere. The other facitlities cannot accomodate the additional load. This weekend there were signs out stating Windsor was full. This wasn't a heavy weekend at all. Wait until Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day. How many of you remember last year's 3 day holiday crowds? Take away 7 lanes of launch capacity for LEGAL boats and even an idiot (not addressed to anyone in particular) can deduce the effect on the crowds at the other facilities such as Windsor and Site 6.

The Marina has a "List" of OK boats, why dont we do a set of Powercurvey things like 4 feet long, clamp them on, get tested and put on the list, then pull them off?? Start up a Hot boat Muffler rental company  I'll get the powercurves made, say $25 for the day (or long enough to get OK'd) and give em back :eat:

Unfortunately, this is exactly why I launched at the marina. Now, if I were awake at 0-dark 30 I'll try windsor first, as its about 6 feet from my storage.

The only full sign at Windsor on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday was the campground sign. There was plenty of parking with only the giant tow rigs in the overflow(two of them).

Windsor was full on Sunday. Both the campground and the boat launch.
The Marina was practically empty. The only ones launching there were wakeboard boats.

So with Windsor full on a Sunday, what does everyone think will happen once summer gets here and 3 day holiday weekend crowds arrive? Chaos.

Thats why I have a place across the lake at Havasu Landing. I have two ramps all day long. Even on busy weekends, Im in and out faster then you can shake a stick at me!!
In fact, I would suggest to anyone that is staying at Nautical and doesnt plan on taking their boat out of the water, Launch across the lake and just bring all their luggage with them in the boat.

I will not use the Marina, even with mufflers on the new boat. I would rather have someone drive my truck and trailer back to the hotel and pick the person up in the chanel. I would assume that if parking is full, so you could maybe get the rangers to let you launch only and not park.
I would try it this way first, but no marina for me. The marina has never said no to me as well, so I don't have a story, but after hearing what just 1 person goes through there, they get no $$ from me. Not that it matters, but I'm not satisfied giving them $1.

No arguement. All I'm saying is I hate to put a dime in the pocket of anyone who does not deserve it, like a certain boat builder I have mentioned in the past. And, you just repeated what has been said here a million times, and one of the reasons I choose not to give them my money, UNLESS NECESSARY.
