Berk and comp Bowls

I have heard a lot of confusion on bowls. I would like to hear more info, because it could help others, and help us understand what could help us make some gains. It would be good to post a pic of the bowl that you are talking about.

Whats the 12 stand for? I'm guessing "J" is for jet and they are lettered in sequence or something like that.

Are Dominator bowls just as good as a Berkeley bowl. I have my sights on a used Dominator but i know nothing about them.

Dominators are just as good as anything else. The early dominator bowls are pretty restrictive as far as flow is concerned. Nothing that can't be fixed with a little detail work. The later bowls are bigger. I have an Early Dominator bowl and had Jack at MPD work it over. Really helped performance.

i heard the 12 is oldshcool pump lingo meaning the whole pump will fit into a 12" pipe, for doing turd pumping.
whats the ball park $ for jack to flow my bowl?

The guy that is selling it to me said it was an early Dominator bowl. Should i pass on it? Its going on my e pump with a 455. Im going to have alot more motor in the near future.

this is my Bowl, aggressor 9 vane. I have a Berkeley Suction piece, Ramp Loader, american turbine droop, then a Place diverter with the Red insert. I have a Legend B impeller. Plus a Ride plate & shoe. Because I got this whole deal at once I don't know the Benifits (or lack of) each piece. :idea: oh almost forgot the bowl was Flowed at MPD. only have 375 h.p. but a real nice Jet Drive :D
