Never too young.
But I was at the Road Runner once,, and a couple left their 3 year old sleeping, boat tied to the dock.
The little girl woke up, got up and promptly fell out into the current.
The bartender caught it outta the corner of her eye and screamed,, and suddenly 5 drunks were swimming with the current, and several more running down the RR beach to get her. Her dumb parents totally outta it up at the tiki bar wasted. A couple mothers got on their case,, it got ugly real quick.
All was OK,, we got her,, but never leave the child unattended in the boat at any age even if they have a life vest on.

The Mrs. was on the boat until delivery both times and the motors helped the newborns get to sleep.
Just found out the Mrs. is pregnant again and will be on the boat till delivery again.

We started Kailey at 5 weeks old. Just kept socks on her... so her feet would not get burnt. And a hat with a big rim. And sunscreen of course. I threw the back pack on .... the one that goes in front... and walked around with her. Breast fed her in the boat and everything. They love the ride on the boat too... puts them to sleep :)
Here's a picture of her... not sure how old she is here... but she looks cute :D

Both mine were exposed to our activities very early on...whether offroading or on the water in boats or jetskis...daughter was on boats in moms tummy all along and cruising with us at a month or less. The engine noise puts 'em right to sleep
Seems everyones says the same...must be something to it.
Don't wait, your kids will love ya for it and its a way of life :) :p :)

My son was out at 6 weeks and my daughter at 2 weeks. Use common sense, keep them out of the sun, lay a damp cool towel over them and get a spray bottle to mist them a little. Make sure moma keeps prenty of fluid in them and all is good. :)

Throught pregnancy and immediately there after the kids were in the boat, or like Ziggy, they were out mudding through the hills in the Jeep. Along with purchasing the stroller and carrier, at the same time we bought the infant life preserver. The earlier the better. The kids would actually fall asleep cruising down the river. They love going to the water and being in the boat.

We took our son out at 8 months, and our daughter about the same.
You need to ask your doctor about using sunblock on an infant. I think they say not to use it before they are at least 6 months old, but I don't remember for sure what age they said. IF you use sunblock before they say you should, the kid could develope an alergy to sunblock, and not be able to use it the rest of his/her life. We know of someone who this happened to! :(
I remember we asked the doctor if we could start the sunblock a couple of weeks before the time she said it would be OK, and she still said no, wait the full time (like I said 6 months if I remember right).

Took my son out at one month in 100 degree weather. He is seven now and seems to be normal!.
Just use a wet towel to keep them cool and moist and most likely they will snooze the whole time. And keep the bimini up.

Took my daughter out last year at 6 months for the first time. Only problem was that she hated the life vest. I need to figure something out for this year.

Took all 3 of our girls out within 1 month of birth, the 2 oldest were cool with the heat, the 3rd didn't did it much so we just had to squirt the mister on her more frequently. Took the playpen, set it up on the beach and kept a wet sheet over the top to keep them cool. Ours didn't like the vest to much either but once we were riding in the boat and they were in a comfortable position they fell right to sleep. On the sunscreen, I also think its 6 months, but even at that your going to want to make sure you dont put it on the hands and face because when it runs or when they rub they hurtin with it in the eyes. We use the sunscreen stick, it works great!! Good luck and get um out there early.

Here's a tip for all you parent of 2 year olds +. If you can find them a neoprene water ski type life vest, that's the way to go. Both of my kids absolutely hated those stupid "kiddy" life vest with the harsh, chaffing material and the big bulky floatation panels. I purchased them both O'Neil neoprene jackets. The type that are very streamlined. What a difference. They both enjoy wearing their jackets now.
I totally agree! I could only find neo starting at 30lbs-50lbs, but once my son got the neo jacket he was much happier. We just got my daughter her first neo jacket at Sam's Club for $30!!! It's a nice jacket too. My son's O'Neil set us back like $60, at the boat show last year.

My picture above with my son is a neoprene life vest for infants 20 pounts and up. They cost a little more than the others. I think we got a deal on ours. It was like $45. We got it at a local ski shop in Victorville, CA, which is where I grow up and parents still live. The shop is called Power & Sons....way cool shop and owner.

Congrats. on the pregnancy...I took my daughter out at 6 mos. w/no probs. Just know that kids dehydrate way faster than adults, and so need constant fluids. Also, had a little inflatable pool she could sit in while on the beach. She didn't do so good on the tube behind the boat, though....j/k...

We had our 6 week old out last fathers day, supprisingly he did very well. Slept most of the time, when the boat stopped he woke up and wasn't too happy.
Decided to wait a few and took him back at 4 months and he loved it, didn't mind the wind and vibration at all.
Good Luck
