I recently moved to a new place that is not fenced in. So my parenst keep my pets until i get it fenced. I get a call Sunday saying my wife's toy poodle is injured and bleeding. I go over there an he has a cut/gash on his shoulder. I called the vet and she returns my page telling me how to clean and dress it until monday when the do goes to the office.
Well I am at work Monday and the wife takes him in. The vet says it looks like a gunshot wound! The cut was on his shoulder down to the bone! How can people do this to animals.
Needles to say he is fine and acts like nothing happened. And it all cost 305 dollars, but there is no price on a member of the family. :D

I agree, and it's not just a dog, it's family!

oh that makes me angry, I used to work in a vet hospital, and it's amazing what people do to animals. I don't understand it myself. There have been times when there is a dog in the neighborhood that barks and drives me crazy somethims and I joke to myself (or mr. at the time) about shooting it with a water gun but I wouldn't hurt an animal.
Glad the baby is okay

I just got a notice from my vet and they are no longer open 24 hrs.
After almost 30 years of emergency service, Chat-Oak will no long be open after 10 pm.
They say it's hard to find vets in the So Cal area, and can't fill their staff.
It's middle of the night when it seems most my pets get hurt.
Daughters Silky jumps off the bed and gets a broken leg, cat comes home wounded.
Ya really realize how much your pets rely on you when they get hurt.

I'd never take my boat out without my dog. Never bitch's about going too fast or the wind is messing up my hair.

Not to stir the pot. But Shawna and I were on our way home from dinner and saw a Lab puppy, dead on the side of the freeway, with no homes around. It must of jumped out of somebodys truck. And its frikken pouring rain out! Makes you love the ones you have even more!
