My top loader finally took a dump, I am looking for a used 12 degree split case, with or without gears, in any condition. I just need to get the boat on the water soon, just had it out two weeks ago and it finally popped out of gear and stuck, I am not going to fix the old top loader. If the boat doesnt get back on the water soon it may never run right. Thanks.

Wouldn't it be ironic if a Clipper fan had exactly what you needed :) I don't but wish you luck finding the part. Hope you find it quickly....
Damn you! I thought you had it for a second...just shows me even more, that the clippers have nothing. ;)

Thanks for the info, I was trying to avoid the high price, I was going to try and pick up a complete boat, I have a couple of the lined up and take the drive as well as other gear for a little less than that, it sounds like that box is like new though.

Now is the time to LOWER your shaft angle. Your photos show the nose high and the tail too wet. It is not that hard (read 'costly') to change the shaft angle and make the boat faster and WAY BETTER.

That pic was actually through Perris chop, so it wasnt a full speed planed out run. The style of on the old flatties like the Lavey is just higher in the front, the ride high. How much will it help? it is just an old ski flat. Dont I have to reglass the floor and move the strut?

Lets see, not to costly hu?
I just did that. New strut, new longer prop shaft, filling the old hole in the bottom of the boat. I did spring for a new shaft log too but didn't really have to. But the total cost was about as much as he paid for his whole boat. lol

That is probably true. I think in my case it would be a waste of time and money. I already know where I want to go with this boat and moving the strut was never an idea, it is simply not needed.

I talked to Gary for a while yesterday, he knows his stuff and it seems that Baron he is building is going to be one tuff customer. His paint skills seem to be pretty awesome also. Unless a box comes up for a smoking price, I will be visiting Gary's operation soon.

DeMonsTrr, Let me say I am a real fan of you and your posts. The box of Garys is out of my former boat SK88. It is an older box with two dog shifter with 12 gears. It came from a 56 Glen L kit boat but, was not its original. It was purchased new in the mid 60s and the boat died way before the box had any real time on it. It is like NEW. To prove it, I have the original 09 gears for it and they are pristine! They are yours for free!. Shipping is on you though. Also, H2Os box is also like new, having been rebuilt by the legendary, George Nordling! Good Luck Your fan, jErKenHein :boxed:

I am a big fan of your signature. :D And all you have done with the L. Those B boats are tough customers, but you stand up.
I have been in negotiations with Gary, I will be picking up the box this week sometime. I will take you up on those gears, how much would shipping be?

ehh....b-boats all look alike! Too bad the only way to tell them apart are the different numbers plastered on the sides and occasional different colors! Now, it takes a real MAN to drive a Lavey! just ask my wife! and you couldnt find a bunch of nicer folks at the Lavey plant or at the lake! We are NOT the only L boat fans, some of them just are too shy to post their loyalty! Right? Waterbox, Hannah, Dorn, Nordling, Phillips etc. The list goes on and on! SSSHHHHHHHhhhhhhh Did I say that? Gone to the Auto Show, we have 6 flats there including K150 and SS55! :) :) :)

Mr. D, you know I always respect your opinion, usually, sometimes, often, seldom, etc. Some of those folks I mentioned above plus Grichar may just be in the 'King of the Ks' position,,,,,, retired! But I still love and respect them for what they used to be and the King is on tape saying, "there is nothing faster down the straight than a Lavey"! Some of you JeRks here on the borum didnt see the masterful driving job of the late Gus Schade in Mr. Dorns SS39 L at Burley so I forgive most of you! Keeping the torch held high! LjErKizOid
