They are predicting that there will be a spike in oil prices that might reach up to $110.00. that means gas would be anywhere from $5-8.00 a gallon.though the spike maybe short term .

F'n Goldman Sachs speculated that oil could go up to $105.00 per barrel during a potential "super spike" period (a term they used for added shock value) and everyone freaks out. I wonder if anyone over there holds any stock in oil futures? :idea:
An economist on Wall Street responded saying that the only thing that could take crude to such high levels would be a major disruption in supply from Iran, Iraq or Saudi Arabia, which seems unlikey at this point.
It's sad state of affairs when some hucksters at Goldman Sachs can have such an impact on our economy!

And monkeys might fly out my a$$!!!! The main problem we have is refinery capacity. There is plenty of oil and Saudi's are even near pumping to capacity. They have no incentive to see our economy falter or fail. They, in fact, are heavily invested in our stock market as well. They can't control everything with regard to energy. But they carry a big stick in this playground.
They (Saudis) have offered to build additional refineries in the US or even the Carribean and then barge the fuel to SPMS offshore. But, we said no. That would only be helping us, so we better not. Hmmmmm?
Also, be aware that you are paying something like $0.80 per gallon in fed and state taxes. In fact, the federal tax that is currently in place was passed as an emergency measure in 1981 I believe. Guess we haven't gotten over the emergency yet!!

Here are some historical oil prices:
1972 = $6
1973 = Arab oil embargo
1981 = $40
1986 = $7
1990 = $40
2001 = $20.43
On another note, the average Major League Baseball salary was
1973 = $40,839
2001 = $2,138,896
If you were wondering about unemployment
1950 = 5%
1984 = 10.8%
2000 = 3.9%

just a note.. in 1999 oil was down to $9 a barrel ... then the oil companies cried that they were not making any money ... so the boys in D.C. had a special session to give them a BIG tax break .. then miraculously bam oil went up to 20 bucks a barrel... and then the OIL companies laughed all the way to their off shore bank accounts.. the end...well not quit then the IRS gave them billions just to be oil companies because they are so good at it. how do I know this is true .. I watched it unfold on cnn or one of those channels that shows how great our retards oops I mean elected officials perform in live time. All facts and figures here are true to within 1/2 year & 1/2 dollar R.B.
