It was nice to be able to drive 10 minutes from the house to test the boat for the season.
And being the only boat on the lake was awesome. :D

I used to run my flat there all the time. Sometimes there would be one other boat pulling a skier. But more often then not I was pretty much the only one.

I wish I didn't loose all my pics out of the image center. I had one of Eddie Hill in "The Texan" top fueler taken from that same angle.
For those that don't know. Lake Ming is the HOME OF DRAG BOAT RACING. The first drag boat race ever was just up the street at Hart Park.
Lake Ming has a lot of history.
Where she is at they used to have a rope going all the way to the other side. My first time racing there I was sitting on the rope with a full field of Blown Gas Flats and it was the one of the most bad ass feelings ever. Being out there with guys like Hanns, Rex Childers, Jeff Iverson and many more was a real treat for me.
They used to fire up the entire field of boats, leave the marina (brap brap brap!!) and drive down to the starting line. Of course you would pull out, turn the corner and do what was called the BURN OUT right by the beach. It was so bad ass back then.

I am hooked on the races there. We were just sitting on that ramp last race picking up Urban Menace. After he ran 171 with a broken trani. stuck in 1 gear. :jawdrop:

Mrs.Racer277, is that the Howard that was for sale on Rosedale Highway a few years ago? No offense if it's a different brand, just can't see the words on the side and it looks like a Howard jet that was near the corner of Rosedale and Fruitvale a few years back. Just curious.

before they put in an "inramp" at Red Bluff, it was the same as superdave
said..... all the boats holding, then they all did "burnouts" on the way to the
starting line.................. very cool.......... and, it was like twice the
activity compared to today's events...........
once in awhile guys even crashed on the burnout run......little too exited
maybe-???
--good times..........

No it is a Caliber 1. I love our boat but the hubby's says he would rather it be a Howard. Were you going down Stine about 2 weeks ago towing your boat?

No, not on Stine. Hasn't been that far south yet. I did have it at Valley Boats for an ECM issue last week. Took it home Thurs AM, but went over to Hageman. Been to BV a few times, but never on Stine.
There was a Howard with a similar scheme to yours a few years back, was a Jet. Thought it was the same.

Could have swore I saw you driving through one afternoon.
There is a very similiar Jet on BV, we even saw them at Gasoline Alley on Mojave! Seemed like nice people.
Were you happy with your service at Valley?
We had our annual there one month ago, service and mechanical work was good, but wish they would have cleaned the boat a little afterward. Oh, well, that's why I get paid the big bucks! :D

Well, Marty saved me some $ over Galeys. They wanted $65 just to do the ECM scan, let alone fix the prob. He charged me $95, had it on the handheld scanner and plugged it into his PC, checked other sensors, checked the cooling system, had it for two days, and...fixed it. Besides, Marty has taken extremely good care of another boating couple for years.
Yeah, he didn't clean his shoe marks off of the seats, but I am not that particular. Sure, I appreciate one cleaning up after one's self, but I also prefer to clean my own stuff. No one will clean it like I do, so no harm/no foul.
Possibly at BV this next weekend at least one of the days.

Racer277

Fair enough, now I know what to expect.
I was refered to him as best in town.
I'll take honesty, knowledge and accuracy (which he delivered), all day long, knowing I'll have to clean it myself.
Thanks for the info.
Good looking boat you have, you and Dan (Dicudmore) will be the big shooters on little old BV! Can't wait to see that!

There was a nice multi-blue and white Cobra 21' open bow / outdrive at BV last weekend. Ah, and now that I think about it, there was a multi-red / white Carrera jet that looked similar to yours with two guys in it. They cruised by us while we were parked between islands.
