Gibson Muffler question

What is the least amount of exhaust tip I should have when mounting the clamp-ons?
What is the maximum amount of exhaust tip that will go into the clamp-on?
So, long tip or short tip?

the instructions calls for 3" no more no less.

That means I'll need to order the long tips and cut them down.

I'm not exactly sure why Gibson puts the 3" no more no less deal in their instructions, but you can use a tip as short as 2" on the outside. On the other end your tip could be 20" outside the boat, it doesn't matter. That being said, when your ready for your mufflers and if you require new tips, give me a call, DMP just treleased our new exhaust tips. I have them in stock and will make a combo deal.
