Army Sgt. Paul Smith will join 3,439 other Medal of Honor recipients today. His widow will receive the honor at a White House ceremony.
When I heard the news on the radio this morning, it brought tears to my eyes. His example of bravery shines as a beacon that illuminates the hopes of those less fortunate and shackled by the chains of oppression.
May God grant his family peace in the knowledge he gave his life that others might live.

Im glad Hot Boat members take the time to put stuff like this on the site. I know we all love talking about sippin a cold one at the lake, but its important to remember how good we have it at home and the sacrifices made by our troops. As for someone having been to that shithole during desert storm, I have no problem with blasting all those a-holes and bringing the troops home.

Jeez, I'm incredibly disappointed that all of you won't even bother to comment on this man's sacrifice.

There was a nice artical on MSNBC.com regarding this. It was / is very moving. America's real heros are serving our country knowing at any moment they will be called to pay the ULTIMATE price. GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR TROOPS.
