Does anyone know the best way to access the internet from my Laptop instead of driving around looking for a Hotspot. I heard of some kind of card you can insert and have instant access just like using a cell phone.
Any help will be great.
Thanks

As far as I know Verizon has the best Air Cards. Just make sure they have high speed in your area....then your golden.

A Verizon Broadband card. It'll run you about 75 a month.

The Verizon cards work great but can be painfully slow.... High speed is a must otherwise you are looking at dial up speeds at best....

On the way to Havasu I can have a connection about 2 1/2 - 3 hours on the way up there.. it does go in and out in some spots. At Crazyhorse it works better if you are staying on the point.. we stayed on VIP and it was slow as hell. Better than nothing though... but there are times where it seems just as fast as my computer at home. I think it is worth the money.

I used the same card for a while. When it works it is great.
Sometimes it's slow, then it's frustrating. Better than looking for a starbuck$ though. Even if the coffee is a biz expense.

That's the EVDO service. I hear it works pretty well.

the antennas that air cards come with are only good in moderate to good reception areas, get a remote antenna that plugs into the air card, you'll need the adapter cable and the antenna. mine is faster than a phone connnection, It's a sierra 555. The card, activation, adapter and antenna cost me 500.00 or so. It's also good because with a head set you can make phone calls off of your laptop.

I am going to check on the Verizon and Sierra Air Cards now.
