I'm looking to lift my '01 F250 4X4 short bed. I don't wanna go too high, maybe 4-6 inches max. I want the truck to sit level. Wheels and tires will also be purchased. My priorities are....
1 - Function/performance. I don't do a whole lot of 4x4'ing, but, I don't want all show and no go. Mostly around town driving and highway driving to the river. I don't want some tires that will howl like a coyote and I don't wanna do any mods to the body to make the tires fit.
2 - Looks/Style
3 - Price - Not looking to make a desert racer so don't give me those options :D
OK here's the question......In your opinion, whats the best suspension/wheel/tire combo for my application? Maybe "best" scenario and then a "best for the money" scenario.
As always, thanks in advance
Roland

for what it is worth... there is 2" diff front to back. I went with 4" front & 2" rear" ProComp (only one in the market that i trusted 5 years ago) this fits 35" and minor contact at front fender. fair amount of experiance with tires i always go with BFG A/t. They are quiet and give me 100k miles per set. Wheels take your pick, I like weld but stick w/ alum.
good luck

I would go DONAHOE they are a very well built kit and come with great shocks

I am kinda partial to the SkyJacker stuff. My lift (6"softride) just hit 300K yesterday. Same shocks. I had to replace the bushings two weeks ago. But all and all it has held up very good.

My truck is a '91 F250 4x4 dually with a shell and a custom insert. It is powered by a BBF 7.5L 460 that is EFI.

For lifts, definatley go with the Donahoe shocks. I have used Full Traction lifts, and I think they are as nice as Donahoe, for less $$. My truck has a 4.5" hanger drop, with the 2" mini spring pack, to give me a 6.5" lift, and a 100% stock ride. I tow a 38' 5er, and it rides the same as it did stock! I also run 37" BFG Allterrains, and the are quiet, unlike the ProComp Xterrains I had previously! I hope this helps!

definitely go with Donahoe/Edge suspension. The 4.5" hangar kit w/ adjustable track bar rides very nice.
