bahnerjet,
no, they were a local boat builder. Downey Ca. Very fast boat for the day and very popular. 3 of my dads friends had them. Little 16 outboard that hauled ass. They had other models too, mostly outboards and jets. Sometime back in the early 60s they were partners with Stylecraft, also a local boat company, before becoming just 'Regatta'. Schuster splashed the most famous Regatta at one point calling it a 'splashcraft'. Not the same 16 as the Tahiti 16 though. I have an old Weiman ad showing a Weiman 'Regatta' but that's not what I'm looking for.
It'd be very cool if you could find an ad, thanks. I would have to think that somewhere that has to be an ad in an old powerboat or hot boat, but I can't remember seeing one. lol Even an address would be great, the owners name, an old phone number, anything at all.

Thats a name out of the past. A friend had a 16' with a 125 Merc, That boat hauled ass for an outboard and the era it was built. Lots of fun was had with that boat.

Old Rigger,
I have a few magazines, I will check for you.
1Bahnerjet,
I know you have a few Powerboat Mags, I am looking for a 1981 Powerboat Issue, I think Sept. 1981. It would have the coverage of the 1981 Catalina Ski race.
THanks,
Brent

There was a couple of guys not working for the Mfg. who were doing V- drive Regattas. The hull and deck created a 'wing' shape and the chines were hard/ flat. We sold quite a few sets of cav. hardware, struts, and 'grand prix' rudder kits to them. With a 'FE' Ford the boat sat DANGEROUSLY low in the water. In that day they were very 'modern', but looking back, they did not "look" like V- drive boats. (very pointed decks)
