well i guess some people know how my buddie feels right now. today was the first day in the water. got to the lake no leaks 396 set the timming and they off. well im sure we know where it goes from here, they we crusing at i think 3500 when it back fired follow by a very loud rattle and it cut out :mad: :mad: :mad: DEAD, i think that something let go on the bottom end.ok after we get over that i was towing them in and i broke my alt bolt. the funny thing is that that bolt when it broke hit me in the back. we get back to the ramp and as im pulling my boat out my damn bow eye starts to rip out :2purples: :2purples:. what a day...............................

well i think we are ok. he just called me. he just got home and tried to turn it over and i fired right up. no rattle no nothing. yea thats what i said, he thinks the rattle was from his mufflers when it back fired. i think that his ing system got wet and thats why it wouldnt start. i guess luck was his side.......................

Tyro, we were running 4800rpm's! I think the backfire killed the motor and the rattle was the mufflers. Not to mention the rooster that we vered under!!!!Thanks for the nozzle spray tyro;) That felt good;) Im glad that it didnt blow up! I was depressed all the way home. Too bad his rooster is higher than yours :D :D tyro

hey, could be worse, did you read bout the other guy on here launched his new to him boat and hit a wake and the back blew out and it sunk 180 ft? Could be a lot worse.

well the boat fired back up and sounds good.
i talk to michael and he talked to dennis(2724) they said the motor had to much oil pressure and the lifter pumped and kept the valves open that is why it seemed to have no compresson.what so i do???? :confused:
