Has anybody here used Jet Hot to resurrect and old set of burnt up or rusty Bassetts? If so, how does it look? I mean does it water spot easily? Are they hard to keep clean?
Thanks,
Steve
P.S. I'm looking for guys with personal experience as opposed to speculation on this one thanks.

CU, years ago I had my old rusty headers coated (off my '55 Chev) and they turned out great. Looked beautiful all the time. Extremely easy to clean. Never had coated headers on a boat, but water and oil would clean up nicely. Hope this helps. 1QJ

Had my Bassett thru-transom headers coated by Jet Hot 3 years ago.
They had problems getting the original chrome plating off.
What I got back from Jet Hot was rough, as you could see pitting on the tubes which they coated over. (these headers were not rusted, only blued chrome).
Sent them back for a re-coat and the results were not much better.

After lakecrazy's post, let me just add that my headers were not chromed to begin with. They were some sort of high temp paint. Cermatech in Compton did 'em. Also the finish was not that bad to begin with, so consider what lakecrazy said regarding how they look before you send them off. If they look ok, then they will probably turn out ok. If they look bad, then they will probably look bad afterward. My .02 1QJ

Hey guys,
I just emailed Jet-hot coatings for a quote and this is what they told me:
Ty,
It would run $299 to coat your headers inside & out with our Sterling
finish. Add $40 for the chrome removal. The intake would be $130. We'll
need them here for 5-10 days plus shipping time. Return shipping would be
$27.
All parts receive a 3 year unlimited guarantee that covers chipping,
peeling, cracking, discoloration, rusting - anything. New parts also get a
lifetime rust through warranty as well.
Please ship your parts to:
Jet Hot Coatings

Tempe AZ 85283
Just be sure to include your name and return info so we know who they belong
to and specify the finish of your choice. As for billing, you can either
include a credit card number with the parts or you can call one in to the
phone number listed below.
Thanks
Hope this helps ya'll!

Jet hot coating is a very reputable company. I know this for a fact because I live 5 minutes from them. They have done alot of work for my friends, show cars, and boats around here. I can vouch for thier work. In fact they will be doing some work for me in a few weeks. Just my .02
