I talked to the JE/SRP tech guy earlyer today, he recommended i run "26" on both the top and bottem comp rings. I assume he ment .026 but i wanted to make sure because i just found the instructions i had and it's talking in thousandths. The paper says somthing like bore x .0050?? i could call them tomorrow but wanted to try to get this done tonight :)

Yep thats the page i have, guess it makes some sense if i take my bore (4.311) and multiple it by some of those diffrent applications... course the guy on the phone didnt ask me my bore size, guess he assumed my clearance based off the part number i gave him..

.026 in a marine application with cold water you usually add .02 depending on bore size that should be alright. My motor was at .024 twin turbo 4.040 bore 15lbs. of boost. There is a formula but thats what my top annd second ring came out to be.

Lavey Huffer: is .0026 a typo? if i go by the chart and take 4.311 x .0055 that comes out to .0237ish

Shaun, don't add any extra clearance. Just gap to the manufacturers specs.

I'm going to stick to what the tech told me, 0.26 or 0.27 if i plan to squeeze.
