It could be machined for a shoe, but it's gotta come out.
If I were in your position, I would think of one of the new agressor low-profile intakes.

That intake looks like the flat ones Sanger used, but is now missing the short ride plate.

yep it is a 1981 baker. hi tech offers a "add-on'' shoe and ride plate that they say will bolt up does any body run one of these is there more than one way to bolt up a shoe and ride plate syatem?
