I was leaving LaJolla when one of these crept up behind me on the 52east.. I moved into the slower lane, he downshifted, and he was GONE. Within a few seconds all I saw was a spec of grey in the distance... On the downshift and accleration, the car's motor resonated like an Indy car through my 4Runner...
The car is SICK!

How much money would you have to have to make buying a $500,000 automobile make sense? I know it's an emotional purchase (not an investment) but how many homes, what investments, what else would you want/should own before you buy a half-million dollar depreciating asset like that? Sure you can get great resale :D - maybe even get all your money back but how do you feel as you watch every mile click off on the odometer and how much do you need to have in the bank to not think about that?

Chances are that whoever has the expendable money for a car like that doesn't have to worry about the same concerns you or I would....maybe he already has all the homes he wants or needs but this car, he had to have. :D
.
BTW Dan, how's that boat your brother in law bought last year, is he having fun with it.....?

Last year I pulled into Beverly Hills dealer, to work on some equipment. While waiting on customer I asked what car in there was the most exspensive. they pointed out one of those that I just pulled my van next to (10'' away) that would have been a door ting from hell.

They are bad ass. Good to see Porsche making a mid engine car again.
If you have the money to plop down on one, you already have several houses, jets, etc, etc.

That car is a piece of shit. There is a VW engineer on the design team. I`ll give ya 1g for it right now. Thats just so I could put a warmed over Briggs motor in it and cut the grass.

Yours truly prototyped the tail lights, head lights, and mirrors for that car when it was a concept car. I wonder if Dana is going to have a blow out special on those next? :p

Yours Truly = RiverDave
Incidentally it might interest some people to know that a considerable portion of the concept car that eventually became that production car was more or less designed at Porsche's design facility in Huntington beach. :)
