On the stub from the dryer, (that has pipe thread) yes.
On the tapered seat fitting, (that the flex line goes on) No.

i put it on everything ,check with soapy water when done :D
The white teflon is okay for water. If you are dealing with gas make sure it is the yellow. For gas the tape is okay but not the best. Use the paste if you can get it. Home depot usually carries it.
