Ultra Regatta???

Any more news on the Ultra Boats Regatta? I know the dates just haven't seen anything else about it lately. Did I miss anything?

There should be rooms left. You have to tell them you're with the Ultra regatta. Everybody is welcome at our regatta. Invites didn't go out last week because I was out of town most of the week. They will go out this week.

Well, we were going to stay at BML (Black Meadow Landing) down south, but my BOSS :boxed: decided he would be nice and spring for the Nautical for the weekend (10 years working for him, I deserve it :rollside: ), BML is reasonably priced, but down by Parker Dam, if you want to drive your boat that far!!

I'm with ya on that. I think I'm gonna pass. The trip budget is running a little thin anyway and I think it would suck if we didn't stay at the Nautical. Could easily be a $2,000 3-day weekend for me if we stay there.

We're still going anyways, it is the first weekend of our annual week-long vacation there, but still, a little dissapointed that there are no more events.
Might head over to Rotary Park to check out the All Boat Ragatta being held there by riverracerx.
But still doing the Ultra Regatta anyways, just to check it out.

I think we're gonna pass on it too! :frown: No raffle, no boat pics, a cocktail reception we'd probably miss by getting there too late, so just a casino night for $50 a person is a little much. Might still be out there that weekend just not at the regatta. :frown:

Looks like we won't own an Ultra after Monday ,Have a lady that says she wants to buy it for her husband . We've been on the phone & puter a few times & she says she has CASH . But almost eveyone thats called on it has said that .So now we will be looking for a 25-27 mid cabin with a 496 ho .I missed the 2 I really wanted on here

We now can't go cuz we gotta go somewhere else that weekend but I'm not dissapointed. I wasn't looking forward to just a casino night. I wanted to do fun stuff all day with my son and other Ultra owners. My boat wasn't ready in time for last years. I'm bummed I missed that one. Maybe next year they'll bring back all the fun.

I didn't see a whole lot of activities planned, but, I'm sure it'll be a good time. Even hanging in the lagoon with the other Ultra owners and sharing a couple of beers will be good for me.
We'll be attending our first regatta with some very special friends. In fact, for those of you familiar with the Battles Angel ("Rice road accident" thread) will be in for a treat. The Battles family are planning on attending. That in itself will make the Ultra Regatta something special, IMO.
Regardless, I plan on bringing my lil 21 Ultra XS and hanging out with you bigger boys. Can't wait really.

Actually there is a raffle, just no charge for the tickets. Every paid admission gets one raffle ticket, no extra raffle tickets can be purchased. We had many complaints in the past from people because they didn't win anything and others won a lot of stuff because they bought so many tickets. The reason for the people standing in the cove for the pictures is so that everyone can be in the picture. We did this once before and many people asked us to bring it back because the group photo of the boats never seems to fit everbody in the frame. The boats will still be in the background. There still will be activities during the day. More than likely there will be a poker run and helicopter shoot, we are just working out the formalities, so there is no specific time for those yet. The entire event schedule is given out at the coctail reception and first thing Saturday morning. If we do have a poker run, it will be one hand per paid adult admission with no extra hands being sold and there will be no extra charge for the poker run. The $50 fee gets you a T-shirt and a bag full of stuff, the coctail reception Friday night with live music, the events Saturday, casino night, the raffle, hors derves Saturday night and more. The changes we made to our regatta come from a survey we sent out after last years event. We listen to what our customers say and act on it. Most people responded that they didn't like having to be on such a time schedule for the whole day. We also had many of the customers with the smaller boats complaining about how rough Havasu gets and that they would rather not do a poker run. So this year we thought we would try something different. Hope this clears a few things up.
