Screams mom passed away today

Matt's mom passed away today a little after 3pm. She wasn't sick for very long and we are all shocked and saddened.
Please keep Matt and his family in your thoughts and prayers. I'm not sure when he will be checking in....just thought you all would want to know.

Thank you everyone,
She was a remarkable woman. She hung on till we got back into town. I had visited her on Friday morning to make sure she was alright. I had to go to Phoenix and pick up the boat, spend a day on Pleasant, and come home on Sunday. I told her I'd see her on Sunday, as she was scheduled to be sent home from the hospital on Saturday from a non life threatening illness (or so I thought).
While on the lake on Saturday I got a call from my sister saying that I might want to start heading home. We got off the lake (after giving a poor broken down boater a tow) and packed up and headed out. Got back into town at 2:00 am and I went to see her.
She was awake and smiled at me and told me she loved me. She was lucid up to the end and made sure she told all of us there that she loved us. My 5 siblings, in-laws, and the majority of her grand children were at her side when she passed.
I'm going to miss my Friday mornings, we had breakfast together every Friday. I'm going to miss winding her wall clock, I've had that chore since my father died a couple years ago. I'm going to miss hugging her and telling her I love her every time I saw her. Every time...
John Lennon was right, "In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make". My mom had to buy extra luggage for this last trip.

She would call me to give me her grocery list so I could shop for her. I would also clean out her fridge, she had a different idea about how long eggs and milk would last ...... :D
It's funny but when she was "being stern" she would say......."Now listen" and that meant you had to do what she said, no more fooling around. :smile:
I'm going to really miss her, but I'm fortunate to have known her and have had such an active part in her life. I did a lot for her and that is a comfort to me now.
