Does anyone have opinions on this set-up for my application. Any power loss? The price at $299 seems very reasonable. Thanks, Mike

I will be purchasing a pair in a week or two. I hear they run real nice. Sure, you are gonna lose a tiny bit of go, but I hear it's not noticeable. Gotta get em either way!
BTW, is your 67 RS blue with white stripes and do you frequent the Bakersfield area?

I have them sitting in the back of my truck. Probably put on this weekend and take the turbulators out also.

Ok. I see a blue/wht 67 RS driving in this area all the time. Lic plate says something like MIKESRS or MIKES67. It's a clean car. Had one myself years ago.

My bro and I put a new pair of them on our 496 mag. We launched at the havasu marina on sunday and the man giving the test said we were at 81 and gave us the green light. He double checked it and said that we are pretty damn quiet. Never had it checked without them, so we don't know what it was at before. We just wanted to put them on to be on the safe side. Takes about 5-10 minutes to install.

Just remember, the $299 ones are mainly for 496s and smaller.
The Bullets, are for up to 525s and are $499

Does anyone in Havasu carry Dana mufflers in stock?

Out'coled, we can ship UPS. We've got all the different models in stock ready for quick delivery. UPS shipping to Vegas was just changed to one day. UPS charges roughly $10.00.

I put a pair on my 454 mag (Carrera 257 Party Deck) this weekend. They went on easy (about 10 minutes a side). I lost some rpm's about 150 I think. All in all, I think it was a good move. If you are chasing that last mph it may not work for you but I am pleased with the performance and the look. Dana sent them to me one day after I ordered them. I added flappers on the back of them.

Just got mine today! Brown truck dropped them off at about 4:30. Ordered them Friday AM!
One problem. I ordered:
1 - pair 496 Mufflers.
2 - pair 4" flappers.
I wanted one new set to leave on the mufflers, and one pair to put on the tips when mufflers are off. Ordered the two pairs of flappers, but only got 1-pair. Was charged for both pairs.
I called, but their computer was down, so I'll call in the AM. No big deal, I'm not pissed. Just a bummer. I'm sure it won't be any big deal. Whoever was packing probably just assumed the new flaps were for the mufflers and didn't even look at the invoice. The invoice is right, the box was just light one pair.

Anyone know if those mufflers will quiet down a stock 502 mag?? Or is the 496 the biggest these mufflers can handle? THanks!

I just put a set of the 4.5" clamp on Gibsons on a 10.8:1 598 with a big cam and exhaust under the swim step. Used to loud and obnoxious... Now it's just too quiet, 81.8 db @idle on the marina test...

They have a few different bullets. for a stock 502, the 496 ones would be fine I would think. The next step up are for a 525+, that would probably be overkill.

I don't know about the 502. I assume it would be the same as the engines are real close on noise. I personally think the 502 has a bit more crackle to it but they are almost the same size / hp.
Talked to Bob on my order. It was my error, I thought the flappers were sold in pairs. It's all handled. Thanks Bob.

Hey Beer 30, you're right on with the 502 being a little louder than a 496. With the 496 series mufflers it would be close, you'd probably pass with the external clamp on flappers attached.

I ordered mine not knowing they didn't have flappers. I thought all of these new mufflers had them. What make flappers did you put on?.

If you have 4" tips now with rubber flappers, will those rubber flappers work on the new mufflers?

Yup. Same ones. Mine are a little worn, so I will order another set someday. For now, I will use my originals on the straight tip and just leave the new flappers on the mufflers. That way, all I need to do is take off one pr of flappers and put on the mufflers. Then reverse.

Has anyone tried these slip-in mufflers? They go inline between the riser and the tips. It looks like these are the same or similar as the baffles inside of the Gibson tips.
