If memory serves through my haze last night...there was a lot of Frenchie bashing going on here last night. Feel like I owe it to Leon to throw in my .02
I for sure don't need to see any more of those shorts pics... Next time pics of Mrs French instead please!!!
Lets remember at the end of the day Leon's just another guy like the rest of us who likes to have a good time at the river. Back when he had a boat that is!!! :D
From what I know of him, he'd give the shirt off his back to almost any of us if needed, or food off his table (well, maybe beer out of the cooler is more like it.)
Leon and Mrs French invited a bunch of us into their home for a halloween party, they were some of the first to be in contact w/Mark and Melissa after that horrific accident they had last year (and keep the rest of us updated on their condition) Also among the first to offer any type of assistance they could to the Battles after that Rice Rd accident...
So I guess what I was trying to remind everybody is there is a genuine person behind all the posing, the SHOCKWAVE spam, the <<<<<, and well all that BS. Oh, and Leon, the fire jokes went a little too far in my opinion :hammerhea
now back to our regularly scheduled bashing
Heck let me be the first...who is this FRENCHIE mofo that doesn't even own a boat? :hammerhea :hammerhea :hammerhea

Even through all the BS I have met Leon and I must say he is a Stand up guy that always tries to make everyone around him as comfortable as possible and he would give you the shirt off his back if need be ( although I would not recommend this cause he may of worn this up his buttcrack as well :2purples: )

WTF I don't understand is why the hell is Jordie getting all tweaked about what happened or almost happened between Frenchie's boat and another boat that had nothing to do with Jordie ?
Okay, so people make mistakes driving in the channel, at the sandbar and everywhere else in between. If Leon squared it up with the other party, great then. I for one with twin sticks on my new boat am ceratinly not the perfect driver yet, but shit, I am gonna' figure it out pretty damn fast !!
Actually feel pretty comfortable with them already, but just like all other powered vehicle/boat manuveurs, just don't "OVER" correct on throttle or steering and things should work themselves out.
In the end, not everyone on these boards is going to be the best of friends with every single person here, but attitude goes a long way, and I personally try to treat others as I expect to be treated. Leon has been nice to me, but seeing those damn shorts were certainly something I could have done without !! :2purples: :2purples: :hammerhea :D
That being said, if it was me that was going to get the spanking from the peach thong hottie and MrsGhtrim, I would have done the EXACT same with my shorts !! :jawdrop: :D

Maybe I'm just doing my part to make everyone else aware of the dangerous behavior so they know to be especially careful when leon is at the helm as he seems to be oblivious to what is going on around him. Doing my part to make the river a safer place. You know how I do it. How's that sound?

I could not agree more with this statement. Leon is a wonderful, outstanding person that has gone out of his way to be nice and friendly with everyone. I have a wonderful time as his Halloween bash last year, and several times he went out of his way to make sure all were having a wonderful time, and that all felt comfortable.....Leon, hats of to you always..

I talked to Leon on the phone way back in the day (After I poked a little fun at him and others with regards to the "Flex Off" threads).. I was just playing around on the internet, and maybe trying to discourage some certain behaviors occurring on the board that I deemed to be a little on the gayer side of things. Since we've talked on the phone I've not said one negative thing about him on the boards, and have bit my tongue on more then one occassion since then. I do that out of respect to some of our mutual acquaintences. I don't want to put them in a weird spot becuase I have an issue with some of Frenchie's behavior..
Overall though I have this to say, and it's more directed towards Frenchie so I hope he reads it carefully. Your on an internet message board, one that damn near 50% of the river is on, or lurks on. You on top of that are an attention ***** on this message board, constantly putting the spot light on yourself and making sure that everybody notices you.. If you disagree with that, feel free to go back and look at anyone of your threads that start with
>>>>>>>>>>>> Blah Blah <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
You and a couple of your chronies talk a little shit every now and again, but not too much.. But I'll tell ya when somebody fires back you take it all personal and get all crazy about it. On top of that, while your making sure the spotlight is on you, you do things (I.E. that shorts picture, the flex off bullshit, etc.. etc..) that are almost enticing people to rag on you.. ???
I'm not writing this to talk shit on you, and I hope your not reading it that way.. It's more a peace of advice then anything. If your going to be in the spotlight 24/7 then your going to have to deal with the responsibillity, and reprecussions of that. Some people aren't going to like what you have to say, or like you personally for various reasons. Some people are going to like you for who you are, and some people are going to be swinging from your nuts for various reasons. When that goes down, if you can't cope with it, you either need to A. Defend your behavior, B. Change your behavior C. Don't come on ***boat anymore. At some point (as you already discovered with the flex offs) your going to run into some guy that's going to take away option A. Then if you don't go to option B. Is only going to leave you with Option C. Because as I did (and believe me it really wasn't that hard) in the past, they can simply make it embarassng for you to come here, and no longer enjoyable for you to post. At some point your just going to say fock it and not come back anymore. Or goto another board etc..
I think your a good guy deep down Leon.. Albeit probably a little confused about somethings, Dicudmore is right you'd give the shirt right off your back. I think if you just toned the whole spotlight program down a bit on here, and kept your shorts at a reasonable level you'll be just fine.
In the meantime though, I can tell you for the last couple of months I've been..

Actually,,everyone that comes off nice in here is not... I was at the sandbar a couple weeks ago and a board member from here (I wont mention who) would not help me out..
\
I backed off the sandbar and my boat stalled....I floated right by him towards the shore and he says......"Hey man, sorry, I would help you out but, I just put a new motor in my boat"
My boat fired up and everything was ok but...what a f**kin idiot.

Jordy, I certainly hear ya' on the safety issue as I have a wife and (2) adorable children and SAFETY is my primary concern and objective out on the water. We appreciate anything and everything someone can do to make boating safer for us all and there is NO doubt that some people should in no way, shape or form be behind the wheel of any boat, ever.
I guess I am just wondering if this was an "isolated" incident or is this just part of a pattern of wreckless boating behavior on Frenchie's part. If he has done this in the past on multiple occassions, with complete and total disregard for the safety of all others around him, then I too see a HUGE problem. I can only assume that this is not the case and hope it doesn't happen again.

I met Frenchie this weekend, in fact my buddy is the guy that bought his boat, and he seems like a cool guy (P.S. I did not see him drinking). I will agree that I wouldn't post a lot of the things he does but that is because I don't know as many of the board members as he does. To me it just seems like he is posting stuff that he and his buddies think is funny so who cares. I know I have a few funny pictures that my buddies and I get a kick out of and if they were all on the boards we might be circulating them around. Bottom line is who cares if you see a post you don't like assume it wasn't intended for you and move on. I've never met Jordy and if I do I'll offer him a cold one but sometimes it seems like he just out for blood. I doubt that Frenchie is a huge threat to all the boaters on the lake, more than likely he had a close call, something everyone who owns a boat has had.

What comes around goes around. There will be a day when he needs a tow and know one will help him. A few weeks ago I was at the river and had just launched my boat. As I pulled out to the no wake bouys there was a family in a Comander. They were dead in the water. They asked for a tow and I didn't hesitate and brought them in. I'm sure one day I'll need a tow so it doesn't bother me to help when I can.

Not to get off the subject.....but what does a new motor have to do with towing someone in. First day out in my brand new boat I towed someone off the rocks and to the marina.......bad for a new motor?

Having a brand new motor and during break in, you want to keep as much of a load off as possible just like not running WOT for a few hours, both can hurt in the long run.
Still, no reason to leave a fellow boater hanging.

Having a brand new motor and during break in, you want to keep as much of a load off as possible just like not running WOT for a few hours, both can hurt in the long run.
Still, no reason to leave a fellow boater hanging.
What a great opportunity to break in a new motor.... hook up the tow, set it at 2500 rpm and run it for and hour... all brokey in...
Lame ass excuse for not wanting to be bothered... Karma is a hunter, watch out...

I kinda disagree with you. Towing someone with your new motor should not hurt it if its built right. Now if its some big blower motor thats another story. Too much idling sometimes fouls plugs. But as for running without a load on it I disagree. When engines are broke in on a dyno they are loaded pretty hard. Still think he just didn't want to be bothered.

I am just going by what I was told with my new merc motor. They advised against towing tubes & wakeboarders, etc. for the first 20 hours.
Still, no excuse. I would never leave anyone stranded.

Of course. I agree to take it easy on a new motor. But I highly dought giving someone a tow will do any damage.
