Does anyone know where I can get something to mount in front of the driverseat and passenger seat on the dash to divert air? I heard they make a huge difference.

I have a windshield on my Spectre and love it. Spectre has a shop that they had pattern it and make them for the boats. There is a shop in the city of orange? I think. They make all kinds of plexy stuff. I was going to use them to make a splash gaurd for the Ultra, John gave me there info. The best thing to do is call Dave, I hear he treats all customers the same. If you own one of his boats you own one of his boats. Im sure he has had people request stuff like this before. I don't know how something like this would look on a Mach 26 but this is what mine looks like. Oh and mine was around $800, I think.

Thanks for the info Andy. I will call Dave. I don't think I will be buying an F26. I really like the way the Mach looks. Bring that 30 up here to the Delta sometime.

Your right,
except for our gel coats being better than yours, the only thing we have in common is the same kool-aid holders and those sh*tty Merc motors.... oh and those merc drives.... same trailers... mostly the same components....
gee now that I think about it.. thats a lot. :notam:
wait I know..... the carpet, ... and oh ya the shifter is different.... Also that antenna thingy is different too. :D
I wanted those different swim steps too and I was willing to pay the extra $200 for them too. And I definitely would have sprung $250 for the extra chrome on the strainer.

Pennies more..... your the one with a fever. I didn't know pennies cost so much.
Remember me Boatmaster? Last year you told me that it would cost $96,000 for a DCB equipped just like my Daytona but it would take 6-8 months to get one.
Instead I saved $21,000 and not only got a better boat but I didn't have to wait 6-8 months.
So I think the only misleading that is being done around here is Norcal DCB. Eh?
Dave I had no idea you where another mislead Eliminator owner that is searching for a reason why he did'nt buy a DCB for pennies more than a dime a dozen Eliminator.

Dave, I love the new boat. I looked at a 25 Daytona with a blown deal but could not get insurance for it. I have ridden in the 25 Eliminators and they didn't ride anything like the DCB.
I think your boat is good looking if you like baby blue lava lamp effect. :supp: :jawdrop:
I think the price was right on DCB. $28,000 for 2000 Mach26? That seemed like a great price. It was filled with fuel, came with a $10,000 bumpin stereo system. It had ropes, anchors, DVD player, and gift certificates to Chevy's. The trailer came with new rims and tires as well. Maybe I got taken on the price but I feel it was fair. ;)

Sorry Dave I don't remember talking to you last year ( my bad). Please take it for what it is worth, all bashing on these boards is done in good fun. I am by no means a hater, I've owned many Eliminators in my day(of course DCB rigged) but a nice boat none the less. The old saying that every farmers proud of his cow comes to mind, and yes I like my DCBs.

No kidding a 25 ain't a 26, duhhhhh....
So I'm hanging out with some nice kool aid boats at Havazoo. both Mach 26's. Excellent boats. So they both show me around and we are "comparing"
As far as I can tell, these were the material differences between theirs and mine:
Dana Hinges $1,100 (need I say more)
Engraved battery boxes $110 (x2) (ohhh....nice touch there)
Chrome sea strainer $395 (chrome good for 5 mph)
white puck GPS receiver $245 (you got me there)
Livorsi controls $350+ (who cares)
5 lbs bag of zip ties $50
total parts difference $2,360
total boat price difference $21,000
portion attributed to DCB hype $18,640. :)
so the moral of the story is for an extra $18,640 I could have gotten an extra 1 foot of fiberglass in the DCB (that was shorter because I had to "step down to get onto the DCB)  :)
well the 25 daytona is not a 26 mach is not a 27 daytona is not a mach29 so

OK your right.... give me a 5 lb bag of zip ties and a few days to line up all my wires in a perfect-anal-retentive-straight line. I think I can get the same DCB effect in my engine compartment.... Oh ya just for some extra bling... let me get some braided hose and fittings....... OK maybe a week...... :D ;)
Dude, take a pic at your own engine compartment and then post it....I can take a pic of both my DCB's and they will look more like that 33 then your 25 without all the polishing and sick ass engines...and it probably cost extra....Also, I will take a pic of my 230 Eliminator Eagle and I bet it looks about as good as your 25...It's not just the zip ties...it is the time spent rigging it so crap don't rattle loose, through bolted versus woodscrews.....I was constantly tightening crap on my 230 after a weekend and finding stray bolts in the bilge cause it was not put together with the same attention for detail...I do like Eliminators and if I was to get one, I would pay and wait in line for it to rigged by Tony, but I am not going to fool myself in thinking I am getting the same boat stock versus stock...I also priced them both and they were pretty dam close when I bought mine...better deal from DCB with Teague power and within 5K on the outboard deal more for a DCB, so I went with the DCB.
Maybe Brandie can work me a better deal next time. ;)

My last DCB had Merc Power with a Whipple and it was put together pretty clean....I also did not have crap falling apart...Again, I guess it would depend on who put it together? Also, it was not the Merc power in my Eliminator falling apart it was the woodscrews that held the side panels in, and the lag bolts that held the seats down and the lag bolts that held the battery compartments together...Again, it is more then zip ties, I know I had to retighten crap all the time..
Also, the Teague versus Merc comparison was for Prices only...not rigging or dressing...

If your a boat rigger, then why would you want Tony to do a boat for you?Theres a difference between "The stuff is in there" and "The parts are in there and in there correctly and styleish" yes style is a major thing in boating,if you dont agree then you wont need Tony to do your rigging on your next boat.

I will explain... next boat is going to be rigged up to motor mounts with controls, and gimbals (i.e. less motors and drives) I want high quality zip ties up to that point.
I will give your points for interior paint though... Clean! (high quality zip ties and interior paint from now on)
I tried to get the current one this way but this 496HO deal was too good to pass up. Wanna buy a 496?

Maybe they have gotten better...cause all those areas were not through bolted in my boat...it was a 97..
I thought they could have designed the blower on that boat a lot better as well...vent went directly to the swim step vent...however with built in swim step, water would come directly up into the blower vent, go right to blower and burn it out....Just thought more attention to detail and better rigging could have made my boating experience more enjoyable and safer.

Correct 100% agree... but less things then you might think.
The dash, panels controls are good examples and extra blinged-out items, hinges, etc. that need a professional touch.
"The parts are in there and in there correctly and styleish" yes style is a major thing in boating,.
I will tell you the cheap crap (all these could have been "upgraded" but weren't)
Battery boxes... didn't get the upgrade.
engine hatch motors - same
fuel switch - same
small gauges - same
All options that could be changed

But thats what DCB owners want, a step above in the bling department, but with bling also comes the highest quality that you can get in performance, parts and rigging.Theres no doubt that the daytona can run awesome numbers! Rock-it man proves it,you just dont see the same bling and parts on a stock daytona that you see on a DCB.
If I wanted a boat that was a cat and got me from point a to b and was cheaper on my wallet,I would get a Daytona, but I wanted a step above and the assurance that my boat is tops in the rigging and assembly department.
Plus Ive delt with Dave on issues with my boat and I HAVENT found anybody that will stand behind their product like Dave has with me.Even when DAVE WAS NOT AT FAULT FOR THE PROBLEM!

Dave C

my point is all this extra blinged out stuff can be specified and put into the boat at Eliminator factory too. (although most people wouldn't know what to add)
I have a list sitting on my desk of items that will get changed. By the time its done it will look like your DCB (minus the zip ties and interior paint) It ain't that much work either. I listed all these items on page one of this thread.
Yes it comes standard at DCB but can be optioned at Eliminator too

Theres more to it than the small list you put up and a few parts in the engine compartment.I have no doubt in my mind that Tony can make a daytona as nice as a DCB,all im saying is there is a difference in price for what you get and you can see it when they roll out a new boat from either company.

Boatmaster

There is a poker run every other weekend from May-September on the delta. Very different than Havasu, but still a great place to try if you have never been up here. The Big Cat Poker Run in August is the best run to catch if you were going to plan a trip around something. This run pulls well over one hundred boats. The Sacramento Bridge to Bridge Run is also very good, but more of a spectator deal than boating.

Great talking with you guys. I know its all in good fun. ;) (I am being semi-serious though cuz I may be "looking" for a new boat in the next 2 years, 28 vs a 29 ;) ) ;)
I think DCB makes a great product so everyone else has to step up their "A game" to keep up. A little healthy competition among manufacturers is the best thing for us, "the consumer." By constantly improving to keep up with the other guy, they make us a better product.
IMHO the boat show is nothing more than a big trade show. Each manufacturer looking what the other has done new this year. Its a win-win for the consumer, when they compete.
IMHO Eliminator has stepped up their game in the last couple years. No doubt to keep up with DCB, even if no one cares to admit it.(on both sides of the aisle that is) ;)
JRocket,
Tracy is so close to the Delta its scary. 5-10 minutes to a launch ramp. Boatmaster knows more about the Delta runs, he's the man.
