I was wondering if anyone could help me with info regarding lake mojave and staying in Laughlin. Im a long time Havasu Boater, but for a change will be going to Mojave allot this season. First of all....I go during the weekdays, so is Katherines going to be crowded mon-fri? Secondly, which hotel in laughlin offers the best parking, ie. secured, big spaces etc. Thanks for your help.

first welcome to ***boat! we usually have no prbs in the week to launch and on the weekends as long as your there b4 7a.m. you should be pretty good!! as for hotels, we usually stay and park our boat at the Edgewater or river palms!! reasonable and 24 hour security, ride aroudn on golf carts and bikes...never any probs!!! good luck!!!

We went in June last year. Stayed at Edgewater, plenty of parking in main lot during the week. My rig is 34 ft from tongue to prop plus crew cab long bed dually. They want bigger rigs up front by the road but have good security. Katherine's Landing was fine until Friday late afternoon when we had to wait an hour and a half for the trailer to make it through the line to the ramp. Great lake, especially for families. Lots of places to beach and set up camp. Good luck and have fun!!

Edgewater, Palms, Ramada seem to have decent security as does the Riverside.
I have never had a problem at Harrahs or the Nugget, but the security seems nonexistant.
Do not about the rest of them.

If you want to boat Lake Mohave and bypass Katherines, try Cottonwood cove, or best of all Willow Beach. No hotels anymore at Willow, but the trip to the dam and as far south as Katherines is great. There are places to stay at Cottonwood.

I usually like the edgewater rooms are nice and inexpensive and their up the street can accomadate any size boat and 24hr security Katherines landing i have been launching out of their many years and hate it on weekends if you dont have a really big boat and mind a little dust on your ride after the day is over i would hit Telephone cove I would recomend 4x4
Have Fun

Just keep a look out for these guys. I hear they are going to start "recruiting" in Laughlin soon.

I agree with Mainevent. If you want to bypass the long lines go the telephone cove.
JUST WATCH FOR THE POTHOLES WHEN YOU LAUNCH!! :D
Been there done that and it wasn't pretty without a FWD.
Although quite a few people got a good laugh out of it. Live and Learn.

the Flamingo, Edgewater, and Harrah's are my choices. Never had a problem at any of them. If your their during the week, you shouldn't have any problems launching. Avoid Sunday afternoons.......

Friends who stay in Laughlin usually stay at Edgewater or Riverside with no problems. If you don't mind the drive, Cottonwood is nice...You could also look for daily condo rental in Bullhead. Depending on your boat size, water level, you can always launch in the river for the day and head to Havasu, Sandbar. Hope you have a good summer at Mohave!

Don't stay at Harrah's ! The upper level parking has NO security cameras and virtually no security guards either. Last summer my boat was broken into there and they stole my subs and deck..and no one saw a thing ! I would suggest the Edgewater so you can park in the secure lot up behind the outlets. The security there is pretty tight and you can't get into that lot without going thru a guard at the gate and being on the registered guest list. As for Katherine Landing...Fri, Sat, and Sunday suck, no matter what time it is !! Good luck !

Been going to Katherines for 20 plus years, during the week launch times are great. If you have a lifted truck try to launch at telephone cove pretty shallow and if you have a bigger boat you pull into water for at least 25' to float it. I was there friday 5/6 and no lines, weather sucked. As far as hotels go haven't stayed in one for years, heard Riverside newer tower wasn't bad. Good luck.

pretty much dont even deal with catherines anymore and just go to telephone just due to the crowds. but i have a 2wd superduty diesel that is lifted and it does fine with 35s pullin my 21" outta there but those wholes will get ya so just watch out, but it is fun and should be there memorial weekend so see ya guys in the alley.

Ditto on the launch times. I can tell you that if you can get your crews a$$ out of bed at a decent time( Early) You won't have trouble putting in on a weekend. Pulling out is a whole different gig. I suggest weekend extrication should wait till after dark or pull out in the afternoon.
For the guys that hit KL on weekends and don't have a slip try the courtesy slips and get dinner and a few coctails then pull out after the crowd dies down.
The line moves pretty good when they have people out directing traffic, in the evening they have no people directing traffic and everyone is burned out.
Weekday is a mild wait if you don't hit the rush. 7:30 to 10:00. Those times are horrendous on the weekends :argue:
