My Sony only has 2 volt pre outs, and in order to get desired volume from system, I have amp gains at 3/4 plus..... Would adding a line driver like audio control matrix help clean things up and allow lowering the gains on amp with same volume.... Just curious how much benefit if anyone has used one

I'm using one, so is Adam. It allows you to turn the gains on the amp way down and still get the desired volume. Hard to find a 6 ch line driver of this quality.
so the benefit of gains turned down and line driver is cleaner sound at volume? Will I also get more volume?

It allows you amp to amplify a bettter signal from the source...... It can make all the difference in the world...

I would assume at least one or two of your amps have "line-out" to daisy chain mutliple amps. Just link two with two others.

It has 6 channel in and 6 channel out...
which amps do you have running what?

On my five amp system, I come out of the head unit with all three preouts, front l/r, rear l/r, subx2. Into the Matrix 6 channel, out the same. Then I break the front L into a Y that feeds one 700.4 for the left side mids, the front R into a Y that feeds a 700.4 for the right side mids, the rear L/R go to a 400.1 that runs the midbass and the sub x2 goes to a 900.2 that runs two subs and out of the line outs of that amp to another 900.2 that runs the other two subs.
If I knew your layout, I could easily tell you how to best hook it up.
I think he has 2 1000/1 's...He can link the 2 amps through 1 of the amp's preout to eliminate using a y from the matrix... don't remember the other stuff..

2 1000/1 to 4 subs and 3 300/4 to 7 pairs of 6.5.

2 1000/1 to 4 subs and 3 300/4 to 7 pairs of 6.5.
The 300/4 don't have preout, so you'll have to use a pair of y adaptors to split a channel from the matrix to 2 of your 300/4's as SWB suggested ..
remote turn on
constant 12v
ground
deck's rca's into the matrix 6 channels via rca's mount matrix close to deck so you don't need another 3pair of long rca's.. Also it helps keep noise down withou t having the source far from the procesor...
2 channels of rca's from marix to 1 3004
2 channels frommatrix to y adaptors splitting rca's to go to 2 3004's
2 channels lowpass from matrix to the first 10001, and then preout rca's from 10001 #1 to input rca's on 10001 #2
dial it in a nd you're good to go

If you have noise in a boat, you've really got something f'ed the hell up. :D
Oscilliscopes don't lie...Doesn't mean you can hear it though...
rca run between a processor and the source is better to be short than long...

I can get you a Matrix, they only make the one piece. Yeah, I can probably put it in for you, hopefully not a huge ordeal. Tell me how far away you think it will be from either the head unit of the amps, because you need 3 more sets of RCAs too. I can look at your system, we'll be up probably around 9pm on Thursday night. I'll bring my tools and call the AC rep on Monday to get you a piece before I leave.
SWB, the distance from amps to head unit in no more than 7 ft.If you could do that ,that would be awesome. We will be there from the 23rd till the 5th of June.See ya there.
