Attachment problems

I tried to attach a .gif to a post and got the following:

I got around it by uploading to image center and using an image link. But I figured I'd report the problem.

I am having this problem to. Please help. Tried reducing file size and pic is a jpg so not sure what else it could be. I think I have posted a pic before also.
