What does everyone do to keep the sand out of the poles? Once the sand gets in there they are very difficult to open and lose and extend the poles down. Maybe I'm just clueless.

Sorry but I don't make tops/sides/banners for my competition. If I did, they would outlast the canopy itself ! :D

I agree...sand makes it hard as hell for the legs and sliders to work properly, so just rinse it off in the water. They're zinc plated, they won't rust.
