Have you seen pic's of Lake San Antonio? There is a place on Lake Mohave that some refer to as this Cottonwood Cove place that you speak of, but it looks just like Lake San Antonio.
Save your weekend for somewhere nice!

Well it exists, but it sucks. No beaches. Tiny little ramp that is dirt. Lots of hidden hazards. The gas dock never has any gas and if they do, it is half water. Always blown out with 4-5' wind waves and is frequented by gangs out of vegas.

Sounds like my kind of place.
So, if i roll up with my sea-doos and .45, i should be in good shape?

Yeah, and a gas mask. I forgot that Vegas's sewer system dumps right into cottonwood cove, untreated. Brings a whole new meaning to log rolling. :supp:

Uh, actually thats just the runoff from the employees trailer park. Vegas sewage dumps 5 miles up river.

The access road comes from Hwy 93 between Kingman and Vegas. It about 18 miles of rutted dirt road and as you top the mountain, going over the hills and through the switch backs you must have a very short PWC trailer or haul it in the back of your truck.

Comon you guys a fellow hot boater is looking for a fun nice place to boat. Rock-A-Bye Cottonwood Cove is a awsome place to launch your boat with nice ramps and camping ect. I recommend you go there. Now for directions...........Take the 10 freeway towards Palm Desert and exit at Salton Sea and go SOUTH...............I know this sounds fishy but they are in the process of changing the name to Cottonwood Cove. Just back the boat in and forget about the smell(you get used to it)Have fun and be safe. :D

And we must NOT forget that every time you trailer your boat there is LE waiting to administer a blood alcohol test to you. And did i mention the excessive launch fees  :D

All those pictures were taken before the Sunami hit. Cottonwood Cove is now in China.

Anyone been going to Mojave long enough to remember Nelson's Landing? I was there in 1974 (I was 7 years old), boat camped on the AZ side (ahhh, the good ol' days of boat camping). Everything at the Marina was washed into the lake by a 10-12' high flash flood. We had no idea it had been washed away. There is no evidence these days that anything ever existed there, except a road, which is dirt for about the last 3/4 mile. There was a full Marina there with Gas dock, Restaraunt, and mobile homes.
If you are driving up the lake, it is the spot where you see locals in their vehicles on the beach about 16 miles north of Cottonwood on the NV side.

I remember Nelson's Landing, also called El Dorado Canyon.
If I recall correctly, there were a few people killed in that flash flood too.

Horrible place, carp everywhere, people honking, fights at the launchramp, its trouble I say! Sounds a lot like Kathryns on the weekend! I would definately stay betwen Kathryns and the Basin, its more exciting. If you launch out of Kathryns at about 10:00AM this Sat, you will have a great experience. Everything between Cottonwood and Willow beach is just a bore.
