I have an 03 F250 cc 4x4 with a 7.3 and was wondering if a chip would make much difference in the fuel milage? It's stock except for larger tires, 295's, and the front is leveled. 3.73 gears. Looking for advise on which ones are better. Right now I'm getting about 15 mpg on the highway, at best.
Thanks,
Mike

I've got a Banks Big hoss chip that I'm about to stick on ebay - right now it's set for an 01 with 85 HP upgrade - it's awesome to see what these things do on the chip, I've never ran it long enough to see the mileage though.

The chips are awesome! Much more performance and big increase in horsepower. My chevy duramax went up by 2.4 mpg the day I put it on.

I used a Hypertech power programmer (I think thats the name) on my 99 7.3, and it's made a huge difference in power. The mileage hasn't improved a great deal, probably because I added a bit of a lift etc and it cancelled it out.

I have an 02 250 w/ 7.3, 35's and 4" lift...with the programer set on the 3rd setting 90% of the time I went from 15.5 avg to about 17.2...I drive 170 miles a day on the freeway and run 75-80mph...IMO it was worth every dollar...
