Well something had to be done, so I did it. With the high price of gas, it didn't make much sense to keep towing the circus boat back and forth to BHC, so it's staying out at the shack for the summer. With it staying out there, the only reason I needed to bring the truck was to launch, and the Dodge isn't the "friendliest" on gas mileage, towing or not, so I thought I'd buy something to keep the boat company out there. We can drive the car out for the weekends (saving $$$$ in gas), and just use the new vehicle to launch. You may recognize this style vehicle from a famous low speed chase involving a ex-NFL star. I figured I would try to assimilate with Bullhead residents by buying (what else) an old Bronco. What will $1500 buy you on Ebay? An OJ Bronco clone of course! I feel the need to grow a mullet now......

Well now I'm a bit pissed. We were supposed to pick up the Bronco in Riverside early tomorrow morning, but the seller just called me and said it was stolen early this morning. Being the trusting person I am, I called Riverside PD and had them check to see if there was a stolen vehicle report filed, and SURPRISE!, there wasn't. Now maybe it just hasn't been processed (or whatever), but it sure as hell stinks.

Did you ever go to look at it? Being its only in riverside.
What was the deposit on the deal? Wow, that sucks Mike.Hope it all works out for you.

I'll be making a quick trip to Reeferside early tomorrow for a little look see. If it's in his driveway, it's mine.

must've been the new paint job! and I bet the guy that stole it is named Mike too :D
That sucks! did you give them a deposit?

roostwear
06-03-2005, 01:52 PM
Nope, no deposit. I was paying in full tomorrow morning. I called him to get the report#, and he gave me a story about Riverside PD wouldn't take a report because it wasn't insured. :burningm: I told him my ins. co needed to have the report# or they would charge me for a rider and he said he'd pay whatever fee they charged me  I think I'll take the digital to Riverside tonight for a visit to his house. Sure would HATE to see it sitting in his driveway........

BTW- I have been checking the house everyday. Been a few strange cars parked in front, But no one around at anytime. I even walked up from around the corner just to check. Then today the cops towed them away. It seems they were DUIs from what I was told from Bullshit PD.

so? was it there? cmon cmon cmon we want to know......

roostwear
06-04-2005, 06:49 AM
Nope, wasn't there. Here's what I beleive happened. I know he wasn't happy that I was the only bidder and got it at the opening bid (no reserve auction). I think someone contacted the seller (he had a friend list it, who was making a % BTW) offering more and he concocted this "stolen" crap to make a few more bucks. Really strange how Riverside PD says if they were called out, they would have written a report, but the seller says they wouldn't because it wasn't insured. I left some feedback last night :D What the hell is it that people don't have enough honor to stand by a deal even if it costs a few bucks? I'm sorry, but I can't sell out my integrity for that little.......

While that is a fine vehicle, I'm looking for a fullsize Bronco. The v6 Bronco II's have a problem with cylinder heads (among other things), but thanks for keeping your eyes peeled.

Mike,
Maybe you should report it stolen. Then the guy that bought will get pulled over and they will call you and tell you they found it. I bet someone will be driving it around. If you don't want to that then do a car fax on it and find the new owner.

that seller saved you some do the 90s ford were always breaking transmission, fuel pump, pwr steering it would have cost you a fortune the 1st year

Whatever I leave up there will only have about 50 miles pre year put on it so breakage isn't as big of a deal as "lot rot" is. I would prefer a carbureted truck over FI, but I can't be that picky for as little as I want to spend (15-1800)
