I have heard many different ideas. What really works the best. Some of my nameless friends say one thing and I don't believe them because of theirs.
What do I clean them with and where can I get it before the dam run?

PLEXUS plastic / plexiglass cleaner-polish. Excellent for airplanes (kinda important to be able to see). Just used it on my Sleek windshield and it made it look new again. Blue and black can. Our local marine place had it. If you can't find it and want to get some, www.sportys.com in the airplane/pilot area.

Meguires Plastic Polish and Plastic Cleaner.
Can usually find it at most motorcycle stores. it's always been the best thing to use for motorcycle windscreens and helmet face shields.

Yes. Plexi or any plastic tends to "dry out". Any of the polishes have the chemicals needed to keep them clear. Just don't use windex type cleaners or they will get hazy. I really like the PLEXUS. Aerosol can, just spray on and it loosens bugs and such. Wipe and then buff with the clean side of the towel and the scratches disappear. Bugs won't stick near as hard, either. Excellent stuff.

Thank you I will look for some Plexus, and it won't harm my clear coat right?

Nope. Harmless. I got a little overspray on mine, and it just wipes off the same way. Also get it on the paint around the windshields of the plane, and it doesn't hurt a thing. Believe me, I have tried a lot of cleaner/polishes and this stuff is my favorite. You won't be dissapointed.

A diaper or an old all cotton T shirt. but don't wash it in detergent. just run it thru the washer with hot water.

Also make sure you rince the canopy off good with water. any dust on it when you clean it will scratch it.

I did not think you were old enough to wear diapers! But thanks for the tip.

This shit is the bomb, its the same thing that the airforce use to clean their canopies
Novus Plastic Polishes (http://www.noscratch.com/novus/uses.shtml)

I use a soft cotton towel. Just don't use paper towels! They are made of wood and will scratch. I know what I am talking about, my sister is an Optometrist and knows that plastics (eyeglass lenses) don't like wood!
Personally, I thought the Plexus was easier to use than the Novus and I also get a better shine. This may just be the way I use it, I am sure Novus is just as good a product. Either one will get you protected.

To remove the bugs, the manufacturer of my plexaglass motorcycle windsheild says to lay a wet towel over the windshield and hose them off when they are good and soft.
