Someone posted a while back about some running boards that extend out when you open the door, and retract when you close the door. Who is the manufacturer, and how much do they cost? They seemed real nice, and if I raise my truck, my wife and daughter will have to have running boards.
Thanks

I think the N-Fab nerf bars are sweet. Might want to check them out.

I've got a couple quotes on the Amp running boards. I've been told $1200 installed from custom motorsports in corona and $1400 installed from Gary's in Ontario. Custom and a couple others wants $1000 OTD not installed. Gary's wanted like $1200 OTD.

Is there a website they can be seen at?

Never mind, did a search, and found their website. They do look pretty nice. I am going to Outlaw Offroad on Monday, and see what products they have that I can actually see, and compare.

I installed the Kodiack Sidewinders on my truck. It's more of a step but wide enough to stand on. I spent about $150 on each. One for each side of the truck and 2 for each side of my four door. A little cheaper.

Thanks for the replies, I am open to all suggestions. I didn't get the factory running boards, because they are even with the bottom door side, and if I lift the truck, I figured they would be worthless to my wife, because even though they are there, they would still be too high. I am definately looking for something that hangs down a little. I really like the electric drop down running boards, just don't like the price.

Your best bet is to go to the off road shows, I found vendors their selling them $1000 out the door. Installation doesn't look too hard either.

Phebus, also give Extreme trucks in Aliso Viejo a call just to get a quote. They beat Outlaws price on a lift for my f-250 by alot. Ryan

I've had them a few months now and they work flawlessly. $1300 installed from Jason at Rancho Motorsports 909-390-9722 in Ontario. I agree they are a little pricey but in my opinion they're worth the money. They are very solid, much more so than the Kodiak steps, and drop low enough to make getting in and out of the truck a brease, even for my pregnant wife. :D

At this point, I think I am sold on the Amp Research running boards. They are a lot of money, so I might thave to put them off a little while, but I think it will be worth the wait.

I kinda like the bar looking ones that they put on the Z71 Tahoes. They hide the dumb ass frame hanging below. Thy're alot cheaper and add a little protection when offroading.

To be honest with you, the truck won't see much if any off roading. I got it mainly for towing, so the off road issue isn't a big deal.
I went to Outlaw Offroad today, and checked out the AMP electric drop down running boards and really liked them. I just have to come up with the $$$$$$. They want $1380.- installed.

Maybe we need to put a group buy together. I know I would be interested in the bestop powersteps.

I heard they were a bitch to install and wire up. With my bad back, I would only be interested in a deal that included installation.

The best price I got for the AMP Research electric running boards installed was over $1300.-, and I heard about some problems with them, so I just went with some chrome plated, stainless Westin nerf bars for now.
