As far as I know, you have to call them and say you are with CBBB. It isnt that bad, just pick up the phone, punch in the digits, and you have to talk to someone that answers.......... :D

I never learned a secret hand shake but we did circle each other and sniff like when dogs meet on the street. I just hope nobody gets tossed out of the bar this year into the wild party of the parking lot again.

Yes, very possible. Best advice for you would be to keep a full ice chest of beer available for our use at all times...

I cant imagine how packed the lagoon will be this year, it was pretty crazy last year having to move boats out of the way to get out and then lose your spot while you were out. :(

the new lagoon will not be ready this year ( incase you couldnt see) it should be done for next year. this years rain killed all the plans they had to drege the river for the new lagoon the water flows were cut to nothgin and the dreger floats. so with no water there would be no machines lol.. so it seems like they either lied or just didnt tell the whole truth ,oh well i guess . iam going to get over it . should be intresting :)

Not meant as a poke at you guys, but I was watching the lagoon development for a reason. I wondered about permits for the Indians. Needles can't get a permit to dredge their lagoon and marina. The casino however might have enough money to expedite the process. It just sucks that Needles can't get any love. Something about the sediment killing fish. I guess Casino sediment doesn't kill fish.

you know how that works
the casinos have way deeper pockets and bring a lot more to the area ( revinew) . so i would assume that next year they would resume there plans but who the hell knows

No pics Todd, but for the most part it looks the same. I think that the sand bar at the entrance might be down. I saw a 26 Daytona run over the top of it, and it didn't look like he hit. But the water has been up too. Next trip I'll run up there and give it the Mark I eyeball.

And along the lines of something Darth Vader once said, I have a feeling we should pray the deal isn't altered any further. Every year we have beefs with the Avi, every year they claim big concessions, every year they actually come through with small ones. I'd say something about the $1 beers on Saturday night to make everyone feel better, but I don't want to jinx anything. ;)
We can piss and moan about the lagoon deal, or we can just bask in the awe of the spectacle that 100 classic boats jammed into that little hole in the ground would inspire if ever caught on film :D
We don't go for the parking for our boats (if that were the case, we could have it at the bluewater and resererve all the slips) we go to hang out with our friends on a stretch of the river that isn't overcrowded with 26' and up ocean liners. So until a better option is realized that fits those criteria... we're stuck at the Avi. Besides, if it sucked so bad, how come all of us poor bastards keep comming back for more punishment? :D :D :D
Lookin forward to seeing everyone out there,
Chris

I wasn't referring to Avi in my post (sorry it sounded that way) other than "forked tongue" referring to them not coming through with what they say they will. Dealing with the Indians is sometimes frustrating because they work on their own terms. The more I'm in BHC, the more I'm amazed anything gets done, and when it DOES the outcome is often limited by the labor pool in the area. Sure hope the beer is cheap at the Arroweed Lounge, but I'll stop now to keep from jinxing it. As far as another venue, I haven't a clue where else CBBB could go and have the amenities there are now.
I'll stop pissing and moaning, and start basking :D

Mike,
No worries on the forked tongue thing. I was joking around with my Star Wars reference. Just how it goes when you're a grassroots deal and you're working with a larger entity. "Knock on wood", we've had the same group sales manager for over a year now, which is a record at the avi. I liken him to Lando bargining with the Empire. He likes us, would love to see every year and does what he can, but the Indians, local municipalities, etc. have the final say.
As we all know, it's the people that make the event great, so as long as everyone shows up with the same great attitudes that they have brought year after year, we should be styled.
Now as for that jinx, I'll see if I can't get somethin in writing from them so we can hype that aspect of the evening :D

From what I've seen, the Avi is the best venue on the river, unless you decided to go camping... I think the V drive guys have a great venue, but a lot of people don't want to camp. :)
I think the Brothers Loyd do a really good job at this thing. I know it's pretty thankless. However, aren't both of them getting rid of their "classic" boats! :yuk: Just jokes kids. As always, the Disco's haven't missed one yet, and we'll be there with smiles!

It's definitely not thankless. Getting to see all of the boats, hang out with good people, have something to look forward to all year long, and have a reason to have at least one of our boats running if only for one weekend out of the year, are all great motivators/rewards. I'd lie and say we get mad action from the ladies as well, but A. I'm married and Hacker's engaged, B. all of you know what we look like, so you wouldn't believe it anyways :D
As for the classic thing. Maybe fate interviened on behalf of the old Spectra. Since my leg's been busted, things have changed a little and as of right now, I don't have any plans to be signing the title over to anyone. But don't expect to see her at the CBBB. Hopefully Hacker's ride comes out with the enduring "classic" vibe to it that certain boats have managed to hold onto whether they were built in 75 or 2005. For the first time in my life I can honestly say that I'm getting a little envious of my little bro's boat. It's comming together real nice and clean. So much so in fact, that when it's done he might want to think about a name change.

The bottom half of the site scrolls if your browser supports frames. If your browser doesn't support frames, you should probably upgraded it because there have been serveral security updates to I.E. in the past couple years that you might want to get.
The event is held at the Avi hotel in Casino in Laughlin. www.avicasino.com

2 years ago they dredged our marina in willow valley and this year they reramped and dredged Jack Smith so why no redo of Needles is anybodys guess. New ramps at Park Moabi also so I don't know. Sandbar at Avi is definately there when (tide) is out but when water is up its not even visable. 1/4 mile south of the Willow Valley marina on the right center is a ROCK BAR and the marker bouys are gone now and no one seems to want to replace them so be careful if you don't know this part of the river. When you see the beaches and marina stay to the AZ side and you will be fine.
