any thoughtsI don't know about v-drives specifically, but for other gear boxes, I've found that Torco 85-140 GL6 has always been hands down the best non-synthetic. Prolong has the best gear box additives that I've seen, as well. I don't know about synthetics.
Of course, I have a friend that runs straight STP in his v-drive.

For gear lube, personally, I use Torco. I have seen it work when no other synthetics would. First hand experience.
Torco SGO FULL SYNTHETIC 75-140 for gear lube. About $13 / liter but worth it in the long run. They have several other weights also.

I've had the same results from synthetics as standard gear oil. We tried Royal Purple in my red Deaver and it worked just fine. I have to say from experence 80-90 gear oil is fine. Why spend all the extra jack??? :hammer2: Mike
