My girlfriend and I went camping at Lake Berryessa this weekend and we camped at Spanish Flat Resort. We have camped at Monticello before and we really liked it there.
Where does everybody else camp?
What are your opinions of the available campgrounds?
Who has the best waterfront sites?
Who has the best arrangements for campers with boats?

Steve,
I have a couple of different favorites for different reasons.
With Boat-
1. Peninsula Campground at Rollins lake, specifically Bandy's Cove. It's a group site with you own private cove. Has water and a portapotty, no electricity
2. Longs Ravine at Rollins Lake, closer than the Peninsula but almost as nice.
3. Boat in camping at either Don Pedro or Folsom Lake, when the water isn't real low.
4. Tower Park just cuz of the immenities but it can get very crowded on the holiday weekends. Plus it's pretty close for us to get there.
Without boat-
1. Middle fork of the Stanislaus river near Dardanelle's on Hwy 108. Very good place for flyfishing for trout, limited amount of campgrounds so it doesn't seem to get overcrowded, even on the holiday weekends.
2. Truckee river near Squaw Valley, another good place for flyfishing and close to some additional fun
3. Carson River near Markleeville

my own favorite is lake Englebrite. there are only a handfull of camp sites but the water is clean, the lake is full and if you go to south fork to play there are white sandy beaches and shallow water for the bilge rats.

Steve,
Here's a pretty good site with a few of the Nor Cal lakes on it. It gives a pretty good description of the lakes it has listed.
