Which is better to get to Havasu? We will be leaving at 8a.m. on Friday morning.

I always go thru Parker to get there.........other way longer and boring and trafficy, but all freeway.
Guess it really depends on where you start from, but if its the temecula valley then I'd be hitting the 79N to Banning and then the 10 E(towing). I take the 79S and drop into Palm Desert.

15 to 40 is what i always run.. i have just about every bump in the road dedicated to memory. :D

From where you live I would say 79 to 10 through Blythe and parker

The 15 is the worst freeway you can take... never know what crap is gonna happen there. Take the 10 to rice and if you dont feel safe, take the 95 up from the 10...
I will never take the 15 again unless is is the only way to go... WHICH THAT AINT GONNA HAPPEN....

Their was an accident at 630 this morning on there or was that friday.... I forget, either way that freeway SUCKS

The 15 is the worst freeway you can take... never know what crap is gonna happen there. Take the 10 to rice and if you dont feel safe, take the 95 up from the 10...
I will never take the 15 again unless is is the only way to go... WHICH THAT AINT GONNA HAPPEN....

Will you be towing a boat? If not, we take the 62 to the 40 via Amboy. Saves us a lot of time by avoiding the 40/15 interchange.

I agree with Kilr. The 15 and 40 always seems to have issues. Take 215 to 60E, north on Rice road or North on AZ 95 at Quartzite.
You could also cut through Morongo Valley to Amboy and up to 40 but that road is rough! Punch it in on Mapquest.

Don't think it's faster since you have to back track 20 or 30 some-odd miles from the 40. 241-91-60-10-95:Dis the route I travel and it is nice everytime we go (except that one time when they had a HUGE fire on the 95 and nobody could get through...had to go through Quarzite or it's mid afternoon M-F on the 91). Still better than the F'd up 15. That 40 sux too....long and straight for EVER... :squiggle: :squiggle: :squiggle:

I still say the 10 through blythe. If I go the 15 to 40 then to Havi just seems to me that I driving in a big circle

I used to agree except the last two trips from parker to havasu took almost 45MINs...... That killed the trip...

To Parker dam it is like 20+ diff everytime I go the backway...Pearblossom and 58 suck..

I usually leave early in the morning so its always good or late at night.....
i did once do that way during miday and IT BLEW never again midday....
I have down parker to havi at different times and it never fails always stuck in traffic...
