I would like to get as much info about the boat I just bought and anything else I can get my hands on about Cole Boats.
Why did this boat company go T.U.? There's not much searching the web unless I'm not punching the right words.
Any help out there???

Man!!, you're scaring me. I was only looking for a little history and maby some exploded diagrams of the upholstry and such. This thing looks like a dr*g runnung boat. There's a couple of secret compartments that I found that the owner didn't show me!? I found about $3.70 in change. It's better than my couch!! Also a found few ru&&ers?! Must be a girl catcher?

Keith Sayre was telling me that Force has the molds for the 25 and 28. Someone in Havasu had them but something did not work out right, he saw Jim Cole hauling them out on a big gooseneck trailer. I wonder who has the molds for the 20 to 22 footers?
Why did this boat company go T.U.?
Maybe using the wrong people for bankers. I wish Jim still built boats.

We have owned our Cole for about 7 years now.(Selling soon)
I have searched the internet and various boat sites and can find almost zero information or pictures about my boat.
I believe the boat was built between 84-87 (20-21 ft open bow jet)
I think it might be called a skier but I am not 100% sure?
I do have alot of people tell me that Cole makes a great hull but other than that info is hard to come by.(I think it's a secret society)

Force Offshore does indeed have the molds to the 25 & 28 and they are currently producing them. I love the lines of those two boats.

greyno, I asked this same question when I was trying to track down the history on my hull. The molds are all over the place. Extreme Boats posts here on Hot Boat. They seem to be active in searching for the history of these boats. PM them and ask away. They were very helpful with me.
As far as wondering if you got a good deal or not, I think you did. COLE, has a long race history and their hulls I feel are on par with Schiada's, Howards and the such. Very strong, boats! If you want to contact someone who was in that shop for a very long time, building and rigging those boats PM me. He may know more then the preivous owner did about that boat. Most likely he rigged it.

Thats right Brandin, and if you sell your COLE, you are OUT of the society. If you have ever owned a COLE you will most likely never want anything else. He only built a limited number of boats each year. And every single boat was built to a customers specs. he did not build boats just to fill a showroom and hope someone bought one, like most other builders do. This may have been his downfall.

Great reading coleTR1. My eyes are all bugged out now.
Who robbs a boat shop?! Fricking idiots. I was thinking the deal was that he got mixed up with the wrong crowd.
Is that why Jim quit making these great boats? Heck, I would've got right back on the horse and cranked out a even better boat!
That Cole-Cain logo is is pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure Force doesn't have the molds to the 25 / 28 anymore.. I think that deal fell through? Not 100% though.

Hey Trickle... any idea when you'll put your boat on the market???
The new boat has been chewing up alot of our time in the past couple months. :D
The boat is really clean and is basicly brand new (New 500 hp 496,new berkely jet,new interior,etc..) We have a weird stumble in the higher RPM range right now that we are guessing is carb related.
We are looking to fix that and then get it on the market really soon.
Here is a shot of the interior

:2purples: Just to clear the air. We build the TR-2 and the TR-6 runner bottoms. Used mostly for drag racing. The history we have gathered has to do mainly with them. As for the "REST OF THE STORY" about what happened to Cole boats and Jim, I pleed the 5TH on that. I really dont know what to believe... So I feel its best not to post any of the "Stories" I've been told. :argue:

J540, does the 22.4 skier have the same bottom as the 20? I've been tossing around the idea of converting mine from an outdrive to a V-drive. One of those things that make you go hmmmmmmm!

Well as checking out Force Offshores new website, I noticed they don't list the 25 or the 28. WTF... What happened with that deal. I really like Force boats. Force is putting out some nice boats. So, who and the hell has the molds for those two boats? I think the old 25 Cole is one bad ass boat. I'd love to have one of them. I hope a reputable company ends up with those two molds.

I use to hang around his shop a lot when i was a lot younger, My Brother use to run a Cole TFF and a good friends of his ran a TAF BGF . And as i got older i use to help out at the shop and built a lot of parts over there for my boat. I haven't talk to him in a few months, but I will. I need to get the 20' mold to lay up another so i can change a few things. I like the way i did mine and it runs good just want to do a few things different.

YES/NO its the same as the 22' Nighthawk, which is just wider and longer than the 20' but the 20 is the best turning/handling boat. There were some changes on the deck of the newer openbow's to make them stronger.

The 22 Nighthawk is now at the Fresno Boats stable. I believe Jim massey of Riverdale, Ca. still manufactures the:
21'6"Fresno Daycruser
20'6"Fresno Mini bubble deck
22 Cole Nighthawk
Plus a few more, less notible boats!

How well does the 22' Nighthawk work as a v-drive? I've always liked the looks of that hull.
