Last weekend I blew out the exhaust gaskets on my boat. Its a BBC with Bassett headers. It had the paper gaskets on it. Are these the best to use for a boat or is there something better I should try? Also if anyone has any tricks to make them last longer I'd be interested in hearing about it.

I've run copper gaskets on the last few boats we have had, as well as my Chevelle, and they have worked out great. They run about $20-30 for a set but they last. If they can seal up a Glenwood BBC manifold, they can seal anything.

I second that on copper gaskets. You can even reuse them.

Forget gaskets...just use a thin bead of the copper silicon...thats what I used on my turbo set up and rewarder header set up...no problems...and who cares if you can't reuse it!
