Getting the pad ready for the new boat. What's a good deal on concrete? No big deal next to the house, close to the street, no obsticles. Three dollars a foot good?

When delivered it goes by the yard. I just did myself almost 4 yards @3500 psi W/Fiber in the mix...delivered was something like $350.00 total.

yup thats a good price, becarefull though most citys tax you by the amount of concrete you put down, so that PAD may cost you each year as the Tax man reaches out his hand, TRY PAVERS = NO PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

How do they measure the yard? Linear?

Concrete is usually purchased by the cubic yard. 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 cubic feet.
A 4" thick slab poured 10 x 20 would need 10 x 20 x .33 ( 4" =1/3 of a foot) 66 cubic feet. Divide that by 27 to get yards, 2.4 So that pad would need 2 and a half yards. You can get it delivered and pumped to your pad location with a pump rig or "tailgated" if the truck can get in.
Price for mud around here is around $100 a yard, delivered. And a pump rig will cost around $175.00 with an operator.

3 dollars a square foot is good... you usually do not get taxed on it until you put a structure on it....
let's say you go to u-cart @ about 90.000 per yard that's over 1.00 per foot. you have to form it, pour it and finish it....
yep, 3 per is good

Lets try this now that we've done it the hard way....
With a 2X4 for a form(tech 4") you get 81 square feet per yard. OR, at a 2X6 for a form (tech 6") you get 55 square feet per yard.
To measure your square feet go length times width.
Be carefull....always over order a bit....you will be amazed at how much even a half inch will eat up within 100sf.... (almost 1/3 yard)
If the pad is for the boat only and you dont care much what it looks like order long fiber in it...(@$8. per yard) if you do then order the small, Stealth, fiber (@4.00 per yard) It helps with cracking control...but nothing is better then #4 or better rebar....
If you need any help ordering mud from Riverside to the border let me know....I'll call it in for you....

Seems a little high. I paid $1300 for 550 sq ft @ 5" thick in Parker.
750 sq ft x 4" + rebar and excavate = $1,800 in Parker
That was last year, before cement and steel prices went through the roof.
About $2.50 sq/ft
No idea what it is now.

Do it yourself with a few friends that have experience. I did mine with my Dad and brother. 9 yards cost me $91/yard and $150 for the pump. Gary Bale Concrete is the man.

Yes the price of concrete is out of control, thanks to the chinese ( The BIG Dam )and other country's we taught how to build. Unfortunately getting the materials just as bad. You can order a short load depending on how much you need so you don't have to order from a regular truck. also another formula thats easy to use for concrete is ( .003085 X sf X thickness ).
Don't worry there is no tax man on this, what he don't know won't hurt him.
