i know very little about them what should i look for. i want to buy it from dell
my wife will get a dicount from them. we will be using it mainly at thr river
to video the boys wakeboarding and stuff like that i have a digital camera
now that we realy enjoy so still photos

Try to get mini dv. That way you can link it up to your computer and download the video, then make your own home movies :D . Also look for a high optical zoom. The digital zoom gets fuzzy. DO NOT get the night vision crap. That stuff sucks. If you're going to be recording at night get one with a light, or at least the availability to use a light with it. Some of the better cameras are pretty good in dark light without having to get that night vision crap.
