Fireworks & Events Top 10 U.S. Displays Your Summer Checklist
Margaritas, coasters, BBQ, parades: 15 Things to Do This Summer Launched from Spectator Point on "the island," this annual fireworks spectacular ignites the heavens over glistening Thompson Bay. Water recreation rules the afternoon as swimmers and Sea-Doos log laps in Lake Havasu -- Mojave for "Blue Water Paradise." Several sunburns later, dusk arrives and the sky takes the stage. Best viewing belongs to boaters in Thompson Bay and beach spectators picnicking at Rotary Beach Community Park. Rent a pontoon or ski boat from one of many local watercraft providers or enjoy the fireworks presentation from a blanket on the shore. From Phoenix, Lake Havasu is a four-hour drive to the northwest. Best to book accommodations in advance. -- April Bryan

I called Bluewater Casino and they say they are doing a show "after" their concert on Saturday the 2nd. The gal wasn't sure what time that would be, but guessed "sometime after 10." When I was there 2 weeks ago that translated to about 10:30pm, so I doubt there's anything close to sundown going on.
4-corners is the bigger show Monday night and, like Boat Cop observes, they blow themselves up every couple of years and that can be damn entertaining in and of itself.
The Bluewater show is smaller - kinda their usual post-concert-event non-spectacular. But hey, at least you can park under 'em and later count the ember burns on your upholstery!
I haven't missed an independence day (night) display at Bluewater since they started doing them - even if the show is sometimes crappy - there's just something cool about being under the display on the water.... If you go to Bluewater remember, boating back from that place after the show can be a mutha - it's pitch black out and no one has any idea how to boat after dark - too fast, too slow, no lights, too drunk, whatever..... be careful, take your time, check your lights, watch for the fools haulin butt in the dark, and use a DD!
