After going for the first time, my question is. Does anyone else have problems with sucking up debris(Mostly that freakin grass crap)? Not so much under speed but when just idling around. I had more crap get sucked in this weekend than I have ever had :notam: :boxingguy

Don't go to parker... been asked to leave when my boat was too loud before the sound law and I haven't had it back since.
I remember getting some grass at Parker when I stayed at Echo Lodge.

Echo does have a Grass line about 20' out from the shore But not so much of it floating down river from there :)

The grass issue is just beginning to get bad. Something we've all just had to live with. It'll get worse as the summer goes on and the water warms up. Over the winter it dies back out and then the cycle will start over again next summer.
Just gives an excuse to jump in and get cooled off.

That must mean you haven't been here since 1974 when the Arizona sound laws were put into effect.

I didn't like parker too much in my boat. I too sucked up alot of grass and it was rough as hell. I felt like I was in the ocean.

Gee, I've partied with people that were running loud boats on parker since 1960 and it was never a noise problem [complaint] till they made that law. Now people that don't like boat noise go to parker[ go figure] and boat police make a living off giving tickets for noise. Do they give them out fair? no, they only ticket the small boats with chrome pipes hanging out the back! I've heard a million boats on that section of the water and never, I said never have seen a big boat get a noise ticket! I'm sure A cop will come on here and tell me about how many he's written over the years to big boats. But will he tell you that he's written 1'000 fold that to small boats. Why do cops use selective enforcement on laws? I say to hurt the small guys, they talk more and word will get out. I know like HBjet, I chose not to run parker anymore, But they don't care, there's more jetski's to cite now. If I chose to be a boatcop and there were no more loud fast boats, I'd be bitter if I had to issue citations to jetskis and wakeboard boats. AND I'm not saying all boatcops are bad so don't get butt hurt. Budlight :D

Won't get butt hurt.
The main ones we write tickets to are those with no mufflers installed at all. Even when we do write tickets on noise and noise alone, we wait until the level is in the mid to high 90s. (legal limit is 86db)
One from last weekend was 113.
And, yeah, one other one was at 98 and was a 24+ foot 2004 Ultra (Big boat)
It's not our fault that mainly "small" boats choose to run zoomies or uncorked OTs. They're also the ones that choose to stay in the same area and make speed runs back and forth causing the majority of noise complaints.
All they'd have to do is make some effort to quiet down, and they'd get a break. But running straight pipes is an instant invitation to the judge and trip back to the trailer.

Its hard to believe I'm running full speed at 37.5mph in that Pic.Well as far as Noise I got pulled over 2 years ago and got a warning for noise I was tested over the limit... I did have the water on BUT no Mufflers.I since run Mufflers along with the water and I havent been pulled over since and I have the Sheriff pass me all the time(Hmmmmmm maybe I should take it off the trailer tho) :) :) :)

Hemp smoker! j/k :D
Everyone knows the areas LE is sensitive about noise. Did anyone get popped at any FC running zoomies or unbaffled OTs? Not that I ever heard. If it's THAT important to you to be loud, then go to the places left that let you run uncorked. From what Boatcop said (and I've seen), LEO has better things to do that bust anyone but the most flagrant violators. Kinda of a non-issue.... when can a FC boat can run Parker, anyhow? :hammer2:

when can a FC boat can run Parker, anyhow? I don't run my boat at Parker anymore but I have a buddy that has a place at Echo Lodge. I go visit with him occasionally. He runs his FC boat there alot on regular weekends and early on 3 day weekends. There's still lots of boats [small fbc boats] that boat there. But it's getting worse there[ water conditions] because of jetskis, wakeboard boats, and the larger boats. Hot Rod boats are a dying breed. One day we'll go see them in a museum. Not till after I'm dead and gone, thank goodness. :D Budlight

Can't really do much about PWCs chopping things up, but wait for a downturn in the economy and the sale of the big $$$ boats will go south. The price of the boat, insurance, gas, etc, will catch up with the big boats sooner or later. What will the builders do then? Make smaller boats again...... :D
Damn, did I just type that? I'm sleep typing again......

what about wake board boats?, sanger has a wake B boat that starts at 65K,geeeese! where do these people get that kinda money?and you see em every where!!!not to mention the BIG cats and cigg.boats, theres alot of rich people out there, shit ,what am I doin wrong? :hammerhea our economy is deffinately going to take a giant shit for a while, maybe it WILL slow down the activities of large boat makers and owners,..............aahhh,probably not,the people that can afford to own em can still afford to run em .

I don't think big $$$ sales will continue on a downturn in the economy. I know ALOT of people that have taken out long term loans to "own" them, and as soon as the lenders tighten up (because of defaults and better returns on bonds), the sales will go down. The first thing to go is the least used toy. We'll find out who the true boaters are......

great, then all we will have on the water is drug dealers. the economic decline only escalates drug use and sales. "what am i doing wrong" you ask? nothing, your probably working hard for your money in a legal fashion. but the illegal activities will allways be there and seems to be increasing more and more. the pay off is too high and the consequences minimal. what multi milloin dollar ranch is charles keaton sitting on right now? steal billions from hard working tax payers and get caught, get a slap on the wrist, and retire a wealthy man. i know that is the extreme but the system works this way for the not so puplicised offenders that made millions dealing drugs aswell. do i hate the fact that smooth safe water is nearly impossible to find these days? of course. i dont believe in segrigation of watercraft, we have enough laws/rules to contend with. id be willing to bet that if government spent a few dollars in hiring task forces that investigate the higher end spendatures of these ever so populating watercraft, homes, and all the rest of the adult toy collections (no not sexual) they would find that the moneys accumulated by repossesion would over excede the initial funding and economical values would increase in the legal population, which would allow small buisness owners to afford hiring legally and create more jobs. a win win win win win ect. will our jails and prisons be come over populated (even more so than now)? hell yes. but doesnt that make more sence than having those offenders in OUR population? im not saying this would extinquish all large high end watercraft users and purchasers, there are many fortunate hard working citizens making good money and deserve to reep the rewards. and i say more power to them, and let us now your secrets. but how many of those people do you really see driving these extremly fast high end boats? for the most part i allways see 3 or 4 guys in their 20s or early 30s with tats and peircings riding in boats that used to be what we called offshore race boats, or driving these 60k wakeboard boats. i seriously doubt they are in the succesful buisness mans coalition.
oh and i havnt been to parker in many years but the grass is a seasonal event that has plagued many bodies of water for decades. i remember the mouth of the river entering havasu from topack used to be nearly impossible to pass through without being attacked by vegitation. its all a part of ecology.

Boatcop, I wasn't pissed about being asked to leave because my boat was too loud, what bothered me was I was running next to a 27' Hallett that was blown and we both were moving probably around 70 miles an hour for a real short period. When we did this, we happened to go by the station on the water. Then I let off and slowed down and the Hallett pulled to a beach on the CA side before the Keys. I floated for a while and watched the patrol boat come out and drive right to me. First thing out of the cops mouth was how fast I was going and how dangerous it was, etc. I asked him about the Hallett and he said he saw nothing wrong with that boat. Then he asked to check the noise level of my exhaust. At idle it was 94db and when I rolled it over 50ft from the partol boat he said it was 109db. So then he asked me to not come back until I have mufflers installed. This was late on a Sunday afternoon in Sept 2 years ago and we were ready to leave anyways, it just bothered me that he thought the Hallett was no problem when it could to as much of not more damage if it got out of control.
I was glad the office didn't check anything else since I had no flame arrestors installed either!
I'm not upset about it at all either because I choose not to boat at Parker due to the water conditions for a boat like mine. I love the lower river!

hbjet, don,t even waste your breath!! you and I and every one else knows you did NOTHING wrong, don,t even try to explain yourselve cause THEY do not give a rats ass,LE can spew all the "we treat everyone equel crap" all they want but its BS.they DO show favoritism and those big boats are WAY more dangerous than our small hot rods, they don,t turn ,stop or manouver even close to what our boats do,there bitchin, but they just don,t handle like a little boat,(of course),its easy to pick on the minoroty, and thats what our smaller boats are now,if they where to stop ALL the boats for noise ,there,d be nothing left on the water but sea doos and wake board boats.(not to mention its a bullshit law anyways)run it up here in bullhead or big river,BHC there home having dinner at 5.30,you get all evening to run,(and you got lights) :D :D

I run at Parker and have never had a second look from LE while there. I go out and do a Dam run early in the AM and float and motor fairly hard until it gets rough out and love it there. No problems with grass either, but I have always run my baffles since I bought my boat. I like a throaty rumble but not an obnoxious bark and we ski and tube and I want to be able to hear if they are down and when to hit it. I guess I just got old!!!

I think it says it all there.
Run baffles and water. Dont run back and forth hot laps, and dont race.
If you wanna do that, go somewhere else.
Well, If I wanna run open, I will go to Blythe. If I wanna race, i will go to Blythe.
If I wanna go to Parker, just chill and enjoy the river and BENCH RACE at the sandbar.

Hmmm lets see here... I have been boating on the strip now for 30yrs +- on and off & 20 yrs non stop. I am running a blown injected 540 with through transom exhaust & no mufflers. Have made numerous passes over 100 & burned 1000's of gal of gas up & down the strip. I have been pulled over once for going over the noise limit & when the officer saw my set up, he just asked me to keep it down & to be careful making speed runs... I have no problems with the local authorities nor has any of my friends with flat bottoms been overly harrassed... Parker is still one of the best all around places to be... Major weekends don't bother me cause I ain't there! Weeds well that is just a reason to "check the prop" :D
