Not only took the blower off, a new look for the boat hardware too. Tired of having to shine the polished stuff so out it came and went to the powder coater.

When I took those pics I hadn't yet. I did shortly after. Went right in the coupler. Had to do minimal clearancing in the floor repair. Shaft log went in the original holes too. I was surprised. Drilled them up through the bottom.

Very cool, you lucked out!. BTW, you did tape off the case gasket area on the plate before powdercoating right???..

Yea it was taped off for powdercoating. It was sand blasted though. The powdercoat guys used to run a pro mod and top alcohol drag boat and knew all about that one. ;)

Cool, looks like you found a place that knows what they're doing, that is the norm to blast it before coating for better adhetion!..

You are going to love the powdercoat. Spray some Simple Green on the motor and hose it down. Done!

Nobody around here does anno. I do all my own powdercoat. And it doesn't have to be sandblasted. I've powdered over polished like this one. http://www2.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/1937pic0pc0.jpg

Looks great, I ain't a pro at powdercoating but I was always told that the part needs to be bead blasted for better adhesion???

Somebody's making powders that go on over polished aluminum that looks alot like anno. Cool effect. Might go that route myself. :notam: I'll be at the powderguy's place one day next week- I'll ask.

Hey SR, that's what I've been looking for. Much of the stuff on my boat was blue anno'd when new, and has faded big-time, naturally.
Tell me what you've done to get the best anno look...what did you put it over- polished aluminum, or a bonded metallic powder, mirror chrome, etc.???
Thanks!
