I've pretty much given up on the idea of finding a replacement windshield for my Sidewinder for any resonable cost. So I'm thinking of trying to make one myself out of acrylic or lexan or some similar material. Supposedly you just have to build a form then heat the suff around it right? Simple as could be? I do have access to a large industrial oven at work, but I'm just wondering if somebody here has tried this before or has ideas. Or better yet, has a nice used sidewinder windshield and trim laying around that you want to sell cheap. Is the Taylor SS windshield the same, or any of the other Siderwinder SS type copies? Looks really similar if not identical.

For what it's worth, some of the 18' CobraJet's looked exactly (and could be mistaken for) Sidewinders. It's just another thought for a possible option.

Let me know what it looks like. I have a new lexan winshield that fits lots of boats. Had it made for a Daytona, and never used it.
