O1 Yukon just hit 80,000 miles day. Any advice as to the pros/cons of switching to a synthetic oil at this point. I have not been consistent on the brands I have used.....just whatever the 10 minute oil change place had.
I purchased the truck new and it still runs great with no problems.

I have an '04 Yukon XL and was talked into the synthetic oil a few changes ago. Did not notice any difference. Went back to the regular stuff. Not worth the extra $$ if you ask me.

It's not too late to do it but at this point I don't think it's worth it. Costs more and probably won't do you any good.

I switched my Yukon to Mobil One 10w-30 at 57,000 miles. It just hit 180,000 this week. I typically go 5000 miles between changes and the oil does not turn ugly and at the most, it may go through one quart in 5000 miles. If I am towing much, it will use a quart in that 5000 miles, if I do not tow, I may not have to add any over that distance. I would personally do it.
