This should be easy. I'm installing an XM MyFi in my 2000 Expedition and I cannot find a switched 12V wire under my dash.
I'm attempting to make the installation look as clean as possible. I pulled the radio forward to tap into the antenna wire with the direct FM adapter. I figured no problem. There has to be a 12V wire on the back of the radio. I checked each one with a meter and all I can't find 12V. Yes, the key was on. If I can hook this up to switched 12V it will turn on and off with the ignition key and I will also not have an extra adaptor plugged into my cigaret lighter.
Thanks
Gary

Thanks guys, now I'll know what to look for. My goal is to hide the cig lighter adaptor behind the dash so I don't have a bunch of loos wires.

Thanks guys those color codes worked. It turns out it's actually easier to find 12V when the other end of the meter is properly grounded. Duh!
