If I was looking for a sandrail where can I search? Just curious as to what's out there and what they are going for. I'm not looking for a long travel car with an LS7, just a decent car for under 10K

I doubt you will find a long travel car under 10k let alone with a Ls7. Most of the cars with that setup are 30k+. Try looking at the auto trader online. I believe they have the sandrails in the motorcycle magazine. If you can up the amount you spend for a long travel it is well worth it.

$10K is going to maybe get you a VW powered mid-travel car that is probably going to need some work. $30K will maybe get you in the long travel LS7 market on a car that will need some work. ;)

The LS7 is only avaliable for order right now. The engine alone with no wiring harness and computer is 13k. 25k is more realistic for the ls7. You can do a LS6.....405HP..Mabey that's what you ment.

You might be able to get a set of A-arms and a blown LS7 for 10K

This one is $15k, might get him in the $14k range. Seems like a fair deal and good car for the $$. It's a 4 or 5 seater.

Nice looking car...but with a 1915 that thing won't have enough power to get out of its own way.

I think you all mean LS1. 10 K will get you a poor brothers starter car but if your looking for a strait out rail good luck. Need to find someone who's in a big hurt. I like Tatum & Sand Limos. Sandwinders are nice to if you want to spend 85k on a rail.
Sandlimo just introduced a ls1 powered sand car for around 35k. Decent suspension too.
There are some deals out there. just got to keep looking. Someones bound to get in over there head in dept.

Theres not to much out there for under 10k that is decent to start with. If your looking for a project or something with no travel or a small engine that you can upgrade later your looking at 5-10k depending on if its a 2 or 4 seater. And for the record I dont know any LS1- LS7 powered long travels that are any good for 30k or under. My buckshot x5 with an LS1 new is 70-80k

I picked up a decent stock rail car out here in Havasu for $5k in the beginning of May. It's a four seater (adults not midgets fit in the back seats), an 1800 cc engine or so and came with a nice set of paddles to go with my desert tires. It's a kick in the pants to mess around in the dirt trails out here in Havasu. It's been turnkey so far.

this is one of the funniest things I've read in a while. Everyone read the original post AGAIN. He says "NOT looking for a long travel car with an LS7, just a decent car under 10K"
Everyone jumped on the band wagon to shoot him down saying he can't get a long travel car w/ LS7 for under 10K.
Wow, I hope when I got tech questions everyone ain't quick to post before understanding what they read... :crossx: :crossx: :crossx:

Hey, why don't you go back and read post #6. He originally had posted that he was looking for a long travel car, then went back and edited it (hence the "Edited by" below the original post). We read real good around here!!! :D :D :D
