Crap,
10k in purse money, I wonder if my co-drivers are still on board, or if they'll be slappin together their own rides :D I'm sooooo stoked that this deal is now official. I've been waitin and watchin and it's finnaly here.
Hustler, you bringin the ol' girl out for the weekend? What about you Proppa, you wanna run the piss out of the ol' girl before you strip her down for gel? I hope Hacker was dead nut's serious when he said we'd use whichever of our boats was running at the time, cause right now, it looks like we'd be sportin the Dana. I think that for the ultimate "lake boat" braggin rights, Randy should see if he can get a crew together to shoe his boat through the slop for the whole race.
I can't wait to get out there and actually drive the boat more than I float in it or leave it on the trailer :)

What type of format is this race, distance, etc. I run quite a few enduro's on a dirt bike, depending on structure this sounds like a kick?
What's the reality to run a 75mph lake boat? Am I going to be worried the whole time about getting run over? Not looking to win just run hard and enjoy myself, Any specific safety equipment that is out of the ordinary?
Definately curious, I understand there is more info to come, maybe some of you guys who have participated can fill me in during the meantime?? ;)
Thanks,
Gugs

I believe the last rule sheet I saw defined the race/regatta (not sure how their labeling it for insurance purposes) as 60 laps of approximately 5 miles per lap. Staggered starts between classes to keep the traffic somewhat manageable, mandatory pitstops and driver changes to control the pace in the pits etc. and an overall "lets get out and run our boats" type environment.
As far as getting run over, I would say that the avg speed for our entry will be below 75mph (especially depending on what the water looks like) and there will probably be others in the same speed category.
For the most up to date info, it's probably best to check out the link belowBluewater 300 Enduro!!!!!!!!!!! (http://www.boatracingfacts.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=55) If half of the guys here on the boards actually sign up and field a team, I can promise a good vibe in the pits if nothin else.
