Looked at these a couple of years ago and thought it would be a cool way to get rid of my Panther.
This guy has a 104 gps in a 18ft small block Donzi

$15,000 for the whole Bravo to Arneson kit.

Those things are the shit! But a little pricey. Check with John Sofilos at Unlimited Marine in Burlingame, CA. He has been making kits to turn jets into surface drives for several years, and I think their about $4k. Good luck!

KCAZKC,
The Arneson drive is the strongest, and most effecient for big HP applications. Hi torque (which is what turbines are good at) will eventually destroy even the most beefy out-drive.
The big hydrolic rams make manipulation of the drive a breeze as well.
Also...on my ride...you hear the (intake) whine of the turbine when its coming at you...as it passes, you can hear the "chop" of the screw at speed...a *very* cool combination of sounds. :)
Take care.

AZKC , I love gasturbine's boat too. There's only one prob. How does he gets around the noise laws ? I remember reading way back, when Howard Arneson built his cat with one, and he had a small kicker engine installed to get him out of SF harbour limits before hi did his 1oo+ mph runs.Back in the 80's a friend had a 28 steve jones hull with an arneson drive twin turboed BBF.Didn't handle too well in backing situations, but had a nice 60 foot tall rooster. The installation of the cav/diflector plate did zero for improvement other than cutting the rooster down.Back in the old days the plate was an option to install. I wonder how hairy the ride on the donzi with one, when the boat aired out. Those donzi's were chine walking with sterndrives with low X dimensions. The AD's higher X dimension may have cured that trait on a donzi?!

BTW...just curious...has it been in any mags?

GEOO, Your boat kicks it. Pretty happy with the ASD? Any negative feedback? How good does the reverse work on it?
