My neighbors(just-us) invited us to the lake with them last weekend, small lake not to crowded. Weather was hot, water was nice. We took a few shots of the good times

Great pics Rich. :D
The water looks up which is great. :D When they start draining for irrigation it turns into a mud pit sometimes.
And yes the rocks and bures (sp) suck there.

Located in Porterville :D not to big, no speed limit, but it is a directional lake. Camp grounds are nice, lots of room in them. Rangers are about as nice as I have ever met, each one of them make you feel welcomed.
Couple nice coves to hang out in, there is a sandy beach, but to many jetskis there.

Did the usual crowds of locals storm the beaches on Sunday? Last time we were there the lake was free to get in to use the day beaches and the locals would show up and basically just run the folks who were camping or had staked out a spot on the lake off of the spot or just use the beach no matter what was said to them, or use the "No Comprende' Ingles" line and just stay there, we got tired of having to pack everyhitng up each time we wanted to go out on the lake that we just packed up and left, great lake though of you like to ski and board.
Water level looked high too.

Hey All, Wife and I wanted to check out this lake and spent 7 days there pre-4th of July. We had a great time but its true that on the holiday weekend alot of locals showed up. In fact, we went down to the lake early Saturday and staked out our spot by setting the easy-up. We then went to get gas and ice and upon our return we found that a few of the locals took it upon thenselves to move our easy-up to fit their needs.....UN-F_ _ King believable. When we quizzed them, they of-course denied moving the east-up but the problem is they had no idea what I was saying since they convienently spoke only spanish.
It is a great little lake and the temp was perfect. If you go, go during the week and not during a holiday. Nice camp-ground and the security is good. Only problem is you need to be in the campground by 10 pm or your locked out. You can walk in but the gates are locked.
Also, there were many jet-skis there and many were completely unaware of the rules associated with boating. But I guess this is pretty typical of most lakes. And by the way I was there with my ski's.

I heard they were leaving the lake extremely low this year to repair a dam issue. Did it seem low? I haven't been by there this year.

They are building a Dam behind the Dam  one of the Rangers said they found loose soil under the existing Dam  and they want to be prepared for a 8 point earthquake :yuk:
